I was sitting with my finger on the add to basket button for a while, then common sense prevailed and I avoided spunking 33 on a 128MB memory card.
I think I can wait a bit more for a sensibly priced 256MB version.

Mmm. I could not wait. Must have more money than sense. Oh well.....
You can always sell the 128 card on e-bay in 6 weeks time once the bigger cards come out.
You'll have 6 weeks of more music, games, videos and pictures, at a cost of about 10 once you sell the old card.
Not such a bad deal for a tenner 😉
Will
Not now there out of stock until the end of march 😮
Looks like were back on the hunt again
Not sure if theyve actually got any or are just running up some pre orders. Havent used this site before but looks more promising than end of March..
Got my card from expansys this morning.
Works just fine & dandy.
deep joy..
Roll on 512 & 1GB cards!! 😊

Good to hear 😃 I was hoping they would come yesterday. Just hope the folks are in to sign for the damn thing!
Before you whack loads of stuff on (if you haven't already) how many full size pics does the camera say it will hold on the new card now? I'm just curious....
Got mine today too!
Look at the date they expect them in again!!!
Not until march, I reakon we did well to pick them up now!!! :icon14:
Got my 128Mb card today too 😊

Ah, thanks. Looking forward to getting my hands on my card later on when I get back! Sad how something so insignificant like extra memory can be so exciting! It's just gonna be nice not to have to delete things all the time.
Dont know if its a coincidence but the first restart after i put my 128 meg card in i got the message "phone start up failed contact dealer" tried taking the card out and restarting but the same thing so i tried holding the 3 buttons down at switch on to format it and it seems to have worked
ive put the card back in reformatted it and put things back one by one just in case something was corrupt on the backup i did via usb
Strange 😊 they are starting to appear on a few sites now which is good but mobileFun are taking the piss at 40 ill think ill just wait a bit.

Init, and I thought 33 at Expansys was bad. Which other sites are stocking them?
Expansis have more stock in 😊
Just ordered one it will tie me over for now at least
43 before I ordered so I think its a safe bet to order.
i'll wait for the 512 card. When will a 1 GB card be out?
Fuck it, I just bought one. It's only 30 odd quid anyway.
And you're right Willbrady, I can shift it on ebay when bigger cards will become available. Mind you I probably won't be arsed when it comes to it and it'll remain languishing in some cupboard.
And whoever said it's sad how something so petty sends us all running to the bog to furiously bash one out, spot on mate. What a bunch of sad bastards 😉
Just got mine through the post, and was surprised to discover it is a Kingmax branded card with dodgy looking contacts.
Have a look:

Didn't even know Kingmax had any dual-voltage cards planned.
Oh and lucky we all ordered when we did, just had a look at the Expansys page and the price has gone up.

good afternoon can you tell me what are your firmware and if the card "kingmax rs-mmc 128mb" works fine on 6630? thank you

good afternoon could you tell me if the mark of the card sell you by the expansys are an "integral"???
The Kingmax card is a new DV MMCmobile card, and is therefore compatible with the 6630. Works fine.
And I'd hazard a guess that all the cards Expansys are stocking are Kingmax.

thank you...
Just had a look at the Kingmax website and they've got 256MB ones on the go as well: http://www.kingmaxdigi.com/product/MMCM.htm
256Mb ones will be on general sale end of feb!!
In reply to whether they are a waste of money. The beauty of the integrated MMC slot is that you can have many MMC cards and carry them around and change when you need to. You could fit 100 music tracks or a full length film on a 128Mb MMC
celios wrote:I appreciate your help... but I have two daily 30 minute journeys to fill and listening to 2 or 3 songs over and over is possibly a very quick way to certain madness! 😊My 6630 was supplied with a 32Mb card (thank you Vodafone), and even 64Mb DV ones are hard to find locally in the UK. I have gone from using a P900 with two 512Mb MS Pro cards and even that I found a bit small. With the flash memory iPod coming in at 80 for 1Gb it is cheaper than buying a 1Gb RS MMC card (currently 120 - imagine how much a DV 1Gb card will cost when they eventually appear)!!
I will keep my 32Mb card supplied with the phone and just use it for photos, apps, etc. Don't get me wrong, I think the 6630 is a great smartphone, but if Nokia want it to be any kind of media player they need start thinking about memory (both internal and external) with a bit more clarity, the whole DV thing smacks of Nokias arrogance toward their user-base...
jest got 128mb card from mobile fun 40 this should sort some of your problems i got an ipod tried to make a phone call on it yesterday didnt work

Well like you say 128Mb will be enough in most cases , but if, your like me gonna use Route 66 and maps that span over 230mb well then you really don't have any choise. Hope Expansys get any 256 Mb any time soon now
Hey,
Has anyone noticed how Expansys put the price of the 128 DV card up by 5.
I swear originally it was up for about 31/32 inc. VAT.
I to am waiting for the same reasons as above, add TomTom &/or Route66 and you soon run out of space.

but those mmcmobile 256mb are not for 6630 because they are not reduced size...😞

Hey, I dug out my old MemoryStick Walkman and have been using that. Decided to put off buying an iPod shuffle, will probably wait for a PSP and get that in March instead (I have 3 512Mb MS Duos doing nothing). 128Mb is OK, but it still ain't enough, and look at the price you guys are paying for 128Mb...!
