ooohhh, man:
Ive heared those rumours for so long, now.
I dontt think that nokia will release a 7650i.
who will buy the big and ugly 3650 then??? :-?
Easy, ppl who dont have enough money to buy the 7650i , thats why its called a youth phone!
BUT IF SO, and if released with BT-audio for headset and car, MMC-slot, trialband, wap2.0/ xhtml-browser and maybe better camera, itll be definately the best phone on the world. nobody will need UMTS then... 😃
i wont go for UMTS just becuse of about 128kbit/sec instead of the 43kbit/sec with HSCSD!!!
43kbit/sec HSCSD theoretically, not practically!

so lets wait and see until next week

Franco74&quot wrote:
btw: in germany, nokia has sold about 200.000 devices of 7650 - itll be another slap in the customers face to release an upgrated model.
itl be good customer-service to sell all the new features within a small upgrading-fee in the NSCs - but I think nokia will never gonna learn that

So I guess just because you bought a Pentium 4 with 2.0 GHz that Intel is not allowed to release a 2.7GHZ after 3 months?

😃 3650
First impression, keyboard sucks.

more pics to follow.. sometime tonite.
must test more.

First thought.. 3650 - lucky fellow 😉

Well everyone says this, so why did Nokia come up with this design?

Will they see sense and change it to something cheaper and more useable?

Yeah, maybe someone could like it, but I dont and wont.
But the camera resolution is better & colour is better.
Maybe I can have my CCD changed 😃 *Hoping*
I will post tomorrow some comparison shots, so you can see it for yourself.
There is no video recording soft on this phone, only playback soft..
So I can not test it.
Otherwise feels like a lot like 7650.
Only thing I instantly liked was the SD memory card ( 64mb) on this phone,
room for 1156 pictures 😃
Great. That I will miss.

Few more pics as promised.
Sorry about those smudgy pics, Had fingerprints all over the "lens" (plastic cover 😊 )
But the camera resolution is better & colour is better.
Are you sure about the resolution? As far as I know, resolution is the same 640x480, but focal length of the lens has been reduced to 2,8 mm from F=3,5 mm in the 7650. This should improve image quality noticeably.

Only thing I instantly liked was the SD memory card ( 64mb) on this phone,
room for 1156 pictures 😃

Are you sure it was an SD slot? I think that in September 2002 there was still an MMC slot and it was placed under the battery cover. That is not very nice, if you want to switch memory cards without turning power off.

According to specification it uses 3V MMC-Cards, but aren't SD/MMC cards compatible? Or are just SD-card-slots downward compatible?

Yes, you cant change the card without taking the battery out. 😞
It is under that, as well as sim card, The battery is new design also,
*really small* is all I can say about it. 😃
OK, I cant say which the card was MMC or SD, I thought it was SD, but not sure. Could have been MMC. To me they look the same, whats the visible difference?
Yes, I talked about resolution, but meant quality, could be that focal lenght is change bur tried to put it on laymans terms 😃
Sorry to have confused you all 😊
In pictures the blurriness around the edges is gone, and colours are better/truer.
But now I gotta get some sleep at last.

more info about focal lenght or here

Yes, there will be a new phone announced monday.
But, its not likely be a 7650i, sorry. (But I wish)
Just Communicator series

Nothing confirmed though..
Yes, there will be a new phone announced monday.
According to rumours and many financial analysts, three (3) Nokia phones with colour displays are expected to be released on Monday.

Attached is a picture of the Nokia portfolio of colour display phones for 2002 that was shown during the last financial interim report of Nokia.

One of these phones is expected to be the new Communicator with GPRS support (finally!). Other ones have been rumoured to be 7650i and 6100.

Of course, these are still only rumours and speculation.
Wheres the anouncment!
I can hardly wait!
😃
i just saw my friend's email (her mailbox not mine) this afternoon

and there are 4 nokia phones
1. 6100
2. 5100 like a candy
3. 7250 a bit like 7210 but more square with camera
4. a white folded phone i think it was the new communicator

i try to call my friend and get the pictures tommorow or maybe tonight

hmm, 6100 as seen on previews is quite boring...
5100 like a candy??? theyd better release a phone like a candle - for a feminine target-group :black:
wow, 7250 - sounds interesting... any details?
aha, new communicator: I know a lot of ppl whow first bought 9210, then after a few month, they bought 9210i - well, lets see if they are willing to buy another device 😉

As i stated before, (and alotta people did) its kinda like this:

Its pretty much a cycle:

Company A releases nifty product
People like nifty product
People buy nifty product
Company B releases a better product
People like better product
People buy better product
Company A has three new products coming
Company B has a couple new products
People confused?
People log on the net
People open www.allaboutsymbian.com
They chat in the forums and learn more about both products
People save money and buy one of the product (or two with spare change)

SO the cycle goes on, with the first steps not necessary, (they were the beginning)

I think if we keep getting bugged about not having the best device on block it'll never finish, as the company is satisfied with "people buying" sp it'll keep releasing. You should buy what suits you and meets your needs.

I've got my eyes on the webcast and allaboutsymbian will be bringing the news hot off the press 😊
I've got my eyes on the webcast and allaboutsymbian will be bringing the news hot off the press 😊
Okay, btw. where can i have a look @ the webcast?? Any link? Do provide. Thanks. 😉

Webcast at http://www.nokia.com/nmic/press.html

Buts its not looking good... for 7650 users There's a press release with no mention of a new 7650. Looks like tghe 6800 might be the new communicator.

Some very nice sounding phones though. I like the super thin MMS handset and the camera laden 7250. Shame about the 7650 / 9210 though.

How 6800 can be the new communicator. With a little screen like that!!!

Enjoy

hey hey

bout the nokia 6800 the menu screenshot is based on Series 40 not series 60

hahahah 7650 and 3650 still better we can install sis files hahahahah

i think the best from all is the N-Gage and if the 6800 is series 69 it's the best one

Yeah exactly rgith this site has you weel trained.... 😊

Symbian OS based = good
Nokia OS based = bad

Hmm even All About Symbian is that biased 😉

That said because they're not Symbian they dont have the expandability / flexibility so I'm not really interested...

The feeling that all these phones give me is that they are a bit sop gap-ish. There isn't anything really amazing. Not in the way the 7650 and 9210 were.

We know that there should be Symbain handsets before the end of the year (14 phones, 4 UI's, 4 months I think it was). Come on SonyErisson, Motorola, Siemens, Panasonic et al...

strange phones I must say...

I wonder why 6800 is not based on series 60???
7250 could be interesting, but only with SD/ MMC...
N-gage looks very big - must be a lot of features in there?

 hmm, no 7650i and no communicator with GPRS/ MMC
