Yep...definately smaller! Without loosing functionality too! Ximplify are the best afterall!
It's good to see that more developers are beginning to split their apps into smaller chunks. If everybody did this, how much space would we save!?
wow
great ximplify really hear from the users
and now i can install more games
😃 😃 😃
hey
they also mentioned that the real amount of memory Seleq takes is 195Kb
so what;s happen with the one that the manager shows which is 372kb
can somebody explain what really happen here
yup, im confused about that too... here's the exact email from ximplify:
Dear Friends,
Just a short note to inform you that we have divided SeleQ v1.5 into the
various languages. You will find that file size for single language
version SeleQ is half of that of the Multi-language variant.
You can download it from www.ximplify.com
We hope the single language variants of SeleQ addresses your concerns
regarding the size of SeleQ.
If you prefer to have multi language SeleQ, please note size of the
installed application is only 195KB and not 372KB as reported by N7650
manager.
Once again thank you all for your support and feedback.
Regards
Patrick
and here is the screenshot of my app manager with seleQ1.5i installed.
how to download the files? my installation still take 372kb
Same here Nokia APP Manager 372KB but single language
nahh...
also bout this new Seleq
i just installed and it takes up to 189kb
and they said that the multi language one is 195kb
so what's the different then ??
confused
and what if i got the full vers of SeleQ 1.5 and i want it to be smaller in size! what happens to my version?? does it have an expiration date??
right.. so we just download the other (smaller) version of seleQ? then will it replace the older (larger) version?
email wasn't very clear
The thing that bothers me is that some people always said that it were good if we could save even 2kb of the memory because of the 3.6 restriction and now that they can save some kb thei complain again.... :-?
it's not a complain at all!! i just wanna be sure that it isn't a trial version when i install it and replace my full vers !! i wanna spare some KB too you know!
I wasnt refering to you shadow...just a general comment!
yes the installation will promt if u want to replace the original seleq with the new smaller one
@ Malebuffy
it's alright! i knew that! 😃
hhmm.. so what you think should i replace it?? i just had the new version two days ago 😞
shadow,
yeah.. me too ! i just downloaded the new(larger) updated version.. so i think we should update.. if there isn't going to be any difference, right?
i mean.. just that it's smaller, doesn't support any other languages than english?
If you prefer to have multi language SeleQ, please note size of the
installed application is only 195KB and not 372KB as reported by N7650
so i gather that what he's saying is that manager is reporting the size wrongly? is that right.. could someone verify?
thanks!
but the system.app would not be the same anymore!
whadya mean it won't be the same?
when u're using seleQ and browse C:/System/Systemexplorer ; you'll find the systemexplorer.app of SeleQ there and i think that's the main part of everything! and i think that is the multi language version, if that is to be changed then it isn't full anymore!!
I wasnt refering to you shadow...just a general comment!
im not a tad bit complaining!!! im very happy about this development and i appreciate a lot the customer service ximplify is putting out. im just saying im confused because the letter of patrick (posted above) contradicts the screen shot i posted!
right.. i think i get what you mean. so have you already installed the smaller version of seleQ?
i haven't tried yet.. but i do believe that it shld have all the functions of the i think it's full!
yeah, seanmiguel - i'm very confused too!!!

this is the main point!!! patrick (from ximplify) is saying that it isnt true that the seleQ1.5i (multi lingual) version is 375, but according to this screenshot it is!!! i took this before installing the single language seleQ version!!!
that's all my saying!!! but since the new version (single language) as per the screenshot of pichu will eat up lesser space i have no problem at all!!!
i mean the systemexplorer.app is already 142KB !! maybe the install file is added up with that... there you go!!
Do I need to enter the registration code again in order to install the single language version over 1.5i? I don't have it with me, so I'll have to wait till I get home tonight if it is so..
Guys myn! What's all the fuss about?
I unistalled SeleQ a few months ago because of the space it was taking up. When I got wind of this change, I went to the Ximplify web site, got hold of the English version of the application and installed it. It asked for my serial number and I gave them the serial number that I received when I first bought SeleQ and now it is installed and working fine.
App. Manager reports that it is taking up 189Kb, much less than before.
No hassle. No extra cost. No problem.
i got the smaller SeleQ working!!! 😃 😃 😃
with only 189 KB !!!
based on what Patrick from Ximplify said that the Multi Language version takes up to 195kb
then this single language ver. is 189kb
so the difference is not much and
To: Ximplify
is there anyway to make the task manager show 195 kb for SeleQ multi language ver instead of 372kb

i installed the single language without removing the multi language 1st, the nokia suite installer will do the upgrading auto. By do this way, u wouldn't need to re-enter your license key. The app. manager do show 189k for seleq but when i use seleq to go to check c:\system\apps\systemexplorer space usage, it do show 195k used, its seems like no different bet the single and multi language on spaces, probably just a fix for the app. manager reporting correct usage of spaces. Maybe the way I'm installing it is wrong, should i remove seleq 1st and re-install the new seleq.
