how do u flash to 15.01, i installed it into the phoenix folder, but how do i tell the files apart from 15.00? and how would i confirm on the phone that i have 15.01 now?
[HOT][NEW] N80 RM-92 IE APAC PR v15.00 SW4.0632.0.38
same problem with the sim...inside as well..cannot flash....😞....😡
hm gues i didnt have to do them separate, o wel, flashing again, wish me luck, again. if somebody calls me while flashing, they will die, first time, worked without sim, this time, had to put sim in, working now ;/
dani, with the sim in, make sure ur "general" profile is selected and ur not in offline mode, i tried to do it with sim card but stil in offline mode to stop calls from coming during flash, but that didnt work.

You don't need to flash again to 15.01, what you should have done is installed both at the same time.
Then chosen your product code usually Euro1 etc
but if you have already flashed you have the latest version
All 15.01 does is add more support for different product codes so different regions and networks can flash, it is NOT a firmware update.

o, well oh well, flashed again, and didnt brick it, so its all good ;]
To access the WLAN wireless scanner, goto the Internet Folder then click on the Download application.
i now have the only WCDMA 1900 Nokia N80 Internet Edition in existence, until somebody else with the prototype flashes ;x
😎 thx charlie..that fixed..the problem😉...
another successfull flash to N80i here also 😊..
voice over ip worked pretty good, gizmo is nice software, the voip is set up nicely, dial as normally, instead of choosing voice call, choose internet call ;]
yahoo go! is VERY nice, "Its Yahoo! in your pocket." search,mail/messenger/add.book/photos/calander/news/finance/weather/games/tasks
cbcharlie, where did u get your yahoo go? where about issit located in the N80i? could u post a link to it? thanks!!
Spoodo wrote:cbcharlie, where did u get your yahoo go? where about issit located in the N80i? could u post a link to it? thanks!!
you have to download it through the phone, go to your internet folder, and select Download!, there you should see Yahoo Go! available for download. if you do not see this, did you flash with the latest phoenix?
TRUPHONE WORKS! free wifi calls to real phone numbers ;] at least for the rest of the year. I bet all you people with n80s awaiting truphone support are gonna get screwed over when they release it to internet edition only ;p
thanks!!!
Just got it downloaded through Downloads!!!
i thought this Yahoo! Go would be pre-installed. haha. it's exactly the same as the one i downloaded from the Yahoo! Go website, eventhough it doesn't show the N80 as supported, only the N70 and N71, i downloaded it and installed it into my N80 and it worked fine.
I used JAF + Pkey to flash the new firmware in. Great tool and simplifies alot of things as compared to Phoenix.

can you go in further detail what JAF + PKey is and where we can acquire these?
JAF is one of the best tooling and flashing softwares. when you install the firmware pack, with JAF you are able to select from the entire product code available for APAC or EMEA whichever you downloaded. Selecting the product you want, it'll select the corresponding firmware, product pack and language pack.
i personally don't own one, but my cousin does and that's where i flashed my phone. he owns a mobile store, i'll ask him where he got it and will get back to you as soon as i find out

how did you get truphone charlie ??
Firmware flash works great, got another 2 N80's todo now.
The VOIP stuff works fine, registers with asterisk through a nat proxy makes and receives calls.
However, if you restore a backup made with the old V4 firmware you loose some of the N80ie stuff , the Wlan wizard fails to work properly.
So have to work out a way of pulling my contacts off the phone - reflash the firmware then just restoring the contacts back on (cant do this via Outlook as I do not use it).

Do you have a way of creating another account now that you have access ??

Charlie, which would you reccommend to use VOIP, Truphone or Gizmo.....what are the benefits and differences, and as you have tried Truphone, can you compare the quality and ease of use of both Gizmo and Truphone.
At first look Gizmo (previously I used TIVI but now converted to Gizmo) now gets my vote, especially as it has a PC client.

There both just as easy to use, once set up, both work great, i give the upper hand to TruPhone just because its 100% free to and from landlines, at least at this current point in time, my vote might switch once we get to 2007.

well its 100% free if other N80 users manage to get an account, or its released before the free peroid finishes...which I doubt, its probably the reason why they didnt release it yet....
The big minus for me is that Truphone dont have and are not planning to have a client for the PC....but as long as they allow both in and out calls to other sip clients like Gizmo then Its something that I can put up with (because many of my friends only have VOIP through their PC)....I just tried calling my TIVI account from my N80 to my Gizmo account on the PC and visa versa in all combinations and all calls went through ok ...so I would think that Truphone should allow this...
And gizmo seems to work fine for me....very clear calls and virtually no lag at all...
I quite like the sound of their "all calls free"plan also
http://support.gizmoproject.com/FAQs/freecalls.php
Quite good if I need to call somebody and their PC is off, but its limited to just some countries at the moment, (France and UK are fine which is good for me) but they say they are looking to add more..
Hey all
Flashed ok to N80 IE but can't seem to register to the Gizmo service.
Any ideas anyone ?
Cheers

I have also noticed that sometimes my Gismo wont connect 😞 😞....I am trying it now and I cant get it to connect, I have excellent signal strength, Tivi connects ok, but Giszo doesnt .......
Maybe its time to go back to TIVI ...
