Some of the forum readers will remember when I started polls here and hastled software companies to make a piece of software which would display pending to-do's and meetings on the 'home' screen of the 7650.
I even went as far as making mock screen-shots and posting them on all the 7650 forums and emailing them to developers.
Then, Active desk was released. I wasn't too impressed and kept bugging talented forum readers to come up with a better solution. Well, last year Ximplify, makers of SeleQ and RemindME started work on the project.
It's almost ready for release and I can confidently say, it wipes the floor with Active desk for those users who don't want to completely remove their homescreen or use up vast amounts of system resources.
Anyone considering ActiveDesk registration, hold off doing so (short term at least) until you've tried Ximplify's new application, you'll be plesantly supprised. 😃
Here's hoping it has an automatic run on startup of the phone! 😉
is it likely to have email checking like active mail?
Uf not ill go ahead and buy active mail now......otherwise ill wait to see what this new programs gonna be like....
Thanks 😃
-It has an option to autostart when the phone is booted up.
-It doesnt schedule email downloads but it will alert you to any new ones with it's unique interface ( :P ).
Wait until a trial is released before you buy ActiveDesk. If auto mail checking is a requirement i'd recommend a combination of ActiveMail and this new application.
any timeframes? im quite excited. if its from Ximplify, it must be good. 8)
is remindme from simplify the same as bugme ???
what kind of feature that one have and the other doesn't have ??
TIA
Can you post some screnn shots? 😃
I'm not sure if I can post screenshots but i'll ask.
So...... where's the screenshots?
Sorry, Im extremely busy right now, I tend to leave the AAS forums until the late evenings... or try to anyway!
Ximplify have said it is fine to post screen shots but I can't because pressing the ABC button on the standby screen temporarily clears the one2go active display panel. (That'll make far more sense once you see and use it!)
Take a look at the attached screenshot. Its one of the mock ones I made for Ximplify last year. The final product looks very similar. The Icon bar floats on screen (you can change where exactly) to alert you to new messages, pending to-do's or up coming appointments. Pressing the joystick down brings up a floating menu which gives a 'today view' of all the events. Pressing it down again brings up 5 quick launch icons, similar to those found in Windows. Pressing down again brings up a list of 2 more quick launch icons, direct access to your settings and a restart phone icon.
Opening the dynamic menu, scrolling to shortcuts and selecting one takes less than 2 seconds. It is by far the quickest way to access your applications or documents. You can customise the text and background colours of the menu system and change the size of one2go's active panel.
It really is quite impressive and very easy to use. Combine it with the excellent RemindME and the upcoming Dreamscribe from Dreamspring and you can Check, Add and Modify your electonic diary in seconds. Great if you're on the move or frequently use your 7650's scheduling features. Even if you don't, you will do once you've got this little lot installed!
wow, if its a little bar like that as opposed to the original screens u made then thats excellent, I prefer this rather than the 2nd standby screen like on active desk and other apps.
I'll be getting my credit card ready, have to see the price first. Good work omar and ximplify 😊 cant wait for a features list 😃
A full screen mode would certainly get my wallet open.
im very excited about this app as well! can hardly wait!!! 😃
I've heard that Cibenix are close to releasing an update of Active Desk that's going to be Nokia OK as well. So may be worth going ahead with that pending Active Desk purchase, as I'm sure updates will be free as they have been until now!!!
Sorry, I should suggest those pending Active Desk purchase to wait for a while because it is worth to tried more before spending your money.

You think the guest(s) work for Cibenix? 😃

Give it a try and suprise yourself with how easy it is to maintain a heavy schedule on your 7650. 😃
I first tried Active Desk long time ago,i had a lot of problems.Even for a first release, well its not as good as for the 92XX 😞
I've just downloaded One2Go. First impressions are favourable. Shall give it a good run out and see if its worth buying.
Updates are a bit slow. If I read a message in my inbox, then close the slide, takes a couple of seconds for the on screen icon to update. Still, its only an intial observation.
its already out, one2go
