Has anybody here signed up for this? It allows for x-net MMS to be sent. You are given a nowmms email address when you register, and anyone on any network (UK at least) can mms to that email address, and its forwarded to your phone. Works well. I've got mine to work with the orangewap APN, so 10MB of WAP use a month, including MMS. Nice.

ok... ok... I found it by myself (well, quite intuitively it was www.nowmms.com 😃)
anyway, this is really GREAT, it worked very well with my italian provider
but there are some downsides: by enabling this MMS profile, at least on 7650, you will lose ability to receive MMS from your provider (or you'll have to switch manually when receiving multimedia messages from your network)
and, I didn't try, but I'm quite sure the receiver will have to use (and register to) the same provider (nowmms)
another thing is, you will pay data you send. It's not a problem if you have a "forfait" tariff, but it could become more expensive than "normal" MMS if you pay per-byte and send big MMS's
anyway, a great idea! if only phone manufacturers will allow us to set different MMS access points with different homepages too

What network are you on? All my family are on VodafoneOmnitel. Mail me your nowmms address, I would like to see if it will work (can't see why it shouldn't, but just to test) my address is [email protected] Yesterday I managed to send an MMS via the nowmms gateway to a standard MMS phone on Vodafone (UK) but I can't replicate that today. But I can send an MMS to any email address through the nowmms gateway, so I no longer use the phone's email client for that. How much is the cost of an MMS in Italy? I reckon its cheaper to use a standard GPRS connection than pay a standard MMS charge.
1st) my address is: nickname faquick, like everywhere else and then add @nowmms.com 😊
2nd) MMS in italy cost 50�cent (vodafone) or 60�cent (others)
if I pay GPRS data I pay:
0.6�cent/KB internet APN
3�cent/KB WAP APN vodafone
4�cent/KB WAP APN others
so if I send via GPRS a normal MMS (30KB) I will pay 1.8�cent (that is A LOT less the "normal" price) and even a big MMS (100KB) would be 6 cents
if I send with WAP connection, I could pay 4 eur to send a 100KB MMS !
a normal 30KB MMS with vodafone wap would cost almost an euro!
then, there is the problem that I need to keep nowmms APN active for receiving MMS's, so I can't receive "normal" MMS from my country :-/
if there was any way to "override" this... nowmms will have a huge success
but operators have worked together with producers to implement these "blockings" so they will always be the ones who will make money, we can forget what we had with free-sms websites 😞
If you use the videomms software, you can send video through nowmms too. Very nice. 😃
the gprs isnt working with the nowmms mms setting,any clues???if i try to send with the Greek service provider Vodafone the mms leaves and i hear a message alert on my phone but no message appears!!!!Anyone facing a similar problem?

u guys are confusing me, aren't the nowmms using gprs sending the mms? from the setting that my 7650 got, its a gprs setting. So, u guys are talking about WAP, what's it all about?
You don't have to use a gprs internet setting. MMS is part of the Wireless application Protocol, quite easily uses standard WAP settings. I've sent you a message, Faquick.

I'm not sure you can send to a specific number. I tried once, the receiver said they got an image but no text or sound but I can't replicate it. Can you send to [email protected]? I'll let you know if it comes through.

anyway, I have to take the phone tomorrow to have it upgraded to 4.39 so I'm making backups (non one, several ones! 😃) and then will charge the battery. I will resume sending MMS's hopefully tomorrow in the evening 😉
Brilliant. I just recorded that from the TV yesterday. It worked because I sent it to your mobile number. Not your nowmms address. Excellent.
