I had my 7650 stolen a few days ago, spoke to Orange, they replaced it under warrenty, no problems, phone arrives, all good so far, try to register phone on club nokia, THEY TELL ME IMEI ALREADY REGISTERED.

Speak to Orange again and they tell me phone is recon coz it was stolen, not very happy but they pass me to Club Nokia phone line to sort out. Club Nokia tell me IMEI can only be registered once and coz its in T's & C's there is nothing I can do

ARGGGGHHHHHHH

Eck

I have always had a really good relationship with orange, never had any problems, always treated me well, very good signal and they innovate so well, EG, Wildfire, excelent service that works.

I've been with Orange since 1995 and have always owned Nokia phones...

Never ever had a problem with Orange, cept their inciduous GPRS charges that make my eyes water every time I look at their price lists... :-?

The reason the phone has been pre-registered with Club Nokia is because it is refurb, not a stolen handset. It once belonged to someone else, who, like you, returned it faulty.

The CS dept. often get a little confused when you ask for anythign more complex than the date.
It is illegal for them to supply you with a phone registered as stolen, and it would have invalidated your Orange Care.

Like Tankerx mentioned, it's Nokia's policy of logging IMEI's once which is the root of the problem, not Orange. To be honest they are the best of the mobile ops in the UK when it comes to customer service.

Orange have TERRIBLE customer services!!!! I hate them! I also Hate Microsoft, but MS have Excellent customer service. But orange sux!

I've been with several of the UK operators and have wound back up with Orange.

Vodaphone - signals crap
Virgin - Richrd Branson (nuff said)
T-Mobile - Crap signal expensive
O2 - Couldn't give a shit about it's customers (have actually started charging national rate for a contract customer to talk to them).

Orange answer quickly, have reasonable coverage, aren't the most expensive and above all have always replaced my handsets with new ones.

Try insisting on having a brand new handset, if it's in warranty. Start quoting passages from the sale of goods act and throw in a couple of comments about courts and compensation claims for good measure. You should receive a NEW handset within 48 hours.

If you ring up Orange, immeadiately ask to speak to a superviser, when they answer ask to speak to their manager and when you have got as high as you can, tell them your recording the phone call in case of any future legal proceedings (works every time no matter who the company is).

Regards,

Gary Hewitt-Long

PS whatever you do remain calm on the phone and don't swear, won't work if you get really arsey with them.

But I like orange...

The only color I hate is purple 😃 😃 😃

:agrue: ok don't screw me just kidding :black:

So take your business to another network, and see how they treat you. You'll miss the Orange touch. The hateorange website is the work of an individual who obviously didn't understand how the market works in the UK< two problems he had that I can remember (that site has been around a while) is being charged for roaming access, which is standard procedure for a foreign national, and being charged "100's" for calling CS from a landline. Perhaps he should have called the 0800 number?

And by the way I think you'll find Orange replaced your stolen handset under the insurance policy, not warranty. How many other networks in the UK support their own insurance policy?

I've never had any problems with Orange whatsoever. Even when I moved from Orange, the people I spoke to were polite and efficient. The Orange signal is probably the best nationwide, even if not in my village.

However, I do reckon that the best Customer Service I've encoutered is with Vodafone. They have a different ethos and I feel more confident speaking to a Vodafone representative. Don't ask me why, they just seem more professional to me somewhow.

Vodafone direct, or a service provider? Many people are NOT speaking to Vodafone direct (of if they are, can't get all problems solved as these must be done by the SP).

Just to add also;

If a phone is stolen, it's replaced by the insurance NOT warranty!!

I was in a service centre once and some guy was arguing that the phone he had dropped and broken MUST be fixed under warranty because the case had broken. The case had of course broken, by his own admission, when he dropped it. It took ages for it to sink in...

Anyway - Orange have the best insurance so far. No excess, no increased premium (in fact, it goes down each year no matter how many "claims" you have). It's a shame that since "Your Plan" was introduced, Orange Care has become an extra option - and many people will not bother and risk the hassle you will get on your home contents policy (if it's covered at all).

Orange are also a fully approved Nokia service centre and have all the official Nokia equipment to do repairs and testing. Thus, a refurbished phone (brand new case) should be every bit as good as a new phone. Of course, there is a slim chance a fault sneaked through - but the same would apply to any other place doing a repair.

In the real world Orange is still the most advanced network.
The rest of the providers are ****w***. Although T-mobile have improved.

funny that... ive been with vodafone for 4 yrs and never once had a problem.. i know people who are on orange and the signal is just crap in this area so it just goes to prove there is no one best provider you just choose the one that works best for you

I'm sure going through people we will find good and bad stories on ALL networks. What I do know is that this topic is sailing close to the wind where lawyers live, so I'm going to have to close it here.
