Well Cometman,if you were folowing this thread: http://allaboutsymbian.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=88272#88272 you would've noticed that j2k is not stoping but cooking up something really nice 😃
Thanks GhostDog 😊

I'm wondering now - people of AAS --should I make the "Skin Editor" (Don't worry, I won't use that name and copy SymbianWare 😉) PC based, web based, or phone based?

Cheers

HI!...

I think that you can make a nice full advanced "Style Editor" (You like that name? 😃 ) , on PC Based...

And may be later a light version to assign icons, colors and easy things with a phone based app. Only if you want to change a few things on the phone...

Great name 😃

Sounds like a great idea 😉

Only thing is, PC based would be restricted to Windows 95 and upwards, no Macs or Linux (unless they use Virtual PC or VMware of course 😊)

Cheers

No Linux 😞

Like AEFOX said, you could make a PC based version that will be loaded with features and some lite version for the phone,so that at least we can play with the icons and backgorunds from the phone.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea.

I can try to make the application WINE compatible for you, GhostDog?

Yes he is 😊

Dont trouble yourself j2k,there is allways VMware, and nowdays, everything is Wine compatible 😃
I really honour j2ks work but I mean there ist "smart launcher" which is definately a lot more advanced than "icon changer", right?
nope, you're NOT right :P

j2k's "TBA" 😉 project will be definitely better than slauncher 😃

and "iconChanger" is very different from launcher: it changes icons in STANDARD menu app! that's a big difference!
and "iconChanger" is very different from launcher: it changes icons in STANDARD menu app! that's a big difference!
...changes icons in STANDARD menu app???? what do you mean by "STANDARD menu app"?
I tested j2ks first beta and it changed an icon (I think it was "favourites" or something...) without changing the name.
I havent tested it in detail yet but when I get it right, with smart launcher you can customize every icon and also the icons name PLUS you have different skins, backrounds and more...?!?
what do you mean by "STANDARD menu app"?
I - quite obviuously :P - mean the built-in "menu" application that is inside every Series60 phone

J2K's application changes these "standard" icons from built-in programs, and not only in menu, but the application icon itself (i.e. the one you see in the top left corner when a program is launched)

Launcher is just different. They don't do the same thing 😉

and thats defenetly what i want 😉

it dont want a new menu, i ike it the way it is.. but new icons would be great

so please j2k.. keep on going.. if you need help, just tell us..

I think there are a lot of parallels with Domi's Fexplorer and all the other file managers out there. Domi has built up over time an excellent app, debating ideas in this forum. Just look at how Fexplorer is valued now.

j2k, a lot of people here are very interested in your work, and don't worry that Symbianware have momentarily "stolen your thunder". Over time, your app(s) will cover the ground 😃

keep at it!

Paul

Is it possible to play MP3 on a 7650? any info will be appreciated 😊

I dont think that SymbianWare has stolen anything,sLauncher and j2k's icon changer are quite different like faquick said allthough in the new version of j2k icon changer(Screenshots were posted in sLauchers tread i thinik) looks similar and there are great improvements like skining the menu, apps and owerall the app looks awesome.
I dont know if j2k will leave the option for changing icons only, like some of you preffer,it might be a good feature, personally,i preffer a whole new look.

Simple icon changing WITHOUT changing the UI is also an option in "Project: TBA" 😊

You must've used the Alpha (changes To-do), not Beta, as that changes more icons 😊

http://iconchanger.symbian-world.com if you want it in its current state... out of 1160 downloads, there's only been one bug report, so it should work properly
1160 downloads? That is 8)

Congratulations
Indeed! Great vote to continue development
Whats happened to project TBA? The original program was brilliant.
Thanks for your praise.

"Project: TBA" has evolved into a whole new program once again, hence the delay. It still mainly focusses on changing the look and feel of the UI, but also incorporates some extra features which people have been asking for (one that springs to mind, which loads of people have been asking about, involves something that appears when somebody calls your phone, which will be able to be shown in a full screen at last 😉)

Also, of course, the program won't be called "Project: TBA" - I still haven't thought of a name! Suggestions on a postcard please...
