Changing the Menu Icons?

Well I see you are having a bit of trouble. I Hope you get it right soon. If anything else fails....there is always *cough*open-source*cough*. 😃

thanx for this great app.. i really like the new icons. but...

theres a little language problem, all the descriptions below the changed icons are now in englisch, my phone uses the german language and im used to the german descriptions 😊
is there any way to keep the descriptions and only change the icons??

Yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention that. The final version will retain the correct language.

thats a right program that... cant wait for the full version to be released.

however, maybe im just being a tad picky but does the modem icon seem a bit "fluffy"? perhaps its just my eyes but it seems out of focus on my phone. hmm

cant fault anything else tho

The two Icon Changer elements (Icon Packs and Icon Maker) are both under review.

Excellent job done j2k...

Your program seems stable and quite pretty for the time being. I'm really looking forward to your full version with more icons and so on.

One question. I hope that on your next beta, or the final program you will have a new Icon for our Program folders in 7650 (tools, various, games etc). I'm sick and tired of the 2 dimensional it already has...Is that the case?

And one little bug. The Call divert Icon is great when you look at it, but when you enter the Call Divert area, the Icon at the upper left corner remains the original that 7650 had. This doesn't happen with the other icons, they all change...

I hope it hasn't been mentioned...

the call divert "bug" is mentioned in the release notes: http://iconchanger.symbian-world.com/relnotes.htm and will be corrected by final release

but it seems j2k is "reviewing" (as he wrote) his idea to publish this program at all 😞 so let's all support him and tell him HOW MUCH we want him to work and release this program 😉

Just one complain. 45kb for just a few icons? It's still too big maybe, but I'm sure you'll work forward to solve it, wont you? 😊

Heh, thanks faquick... Although the future of Icon Changer is now not certain, I can still honestly say that I created the first ever publicly released Series 60 icon changer 😊

No my friend. I just tried sLauncher and my god it's awful...

It completely altered my 7650, with bold fonts underneath the icons and on the whole it seems quite ugly... if i could say that...

No j2k you have to keep up the good work. Your idea is much more closer to what thousands of 7650 users want. Trust me...!
I love my 7650 the way I bought it, but I'd like the icons altered. Even these few new icons have made it much more interesting...

I do support it too but i think it can be compared with SymbianWare's Launcher,they are two different apps,Icon Changer,like the name says,Changes icons and its freeware but Launcher has a couple of more feaures,adds a new taskmanager,option for skining the task manager,new menu,option for skining the menu and new icons and in order to use Laucher you will have to do some art jobs by yourself but i think that should change in time with people trading custom made skins or even SymbianWare providing default ones.

I really admire j2k's work,but i dont think there is room for comparison between the two.

In the end,it is a users choice of course.

Thanks for support guys. The program is still "under review", it doesn't mean it's going to be cancelled, but I'm just taking a break from it for a little while, to see how things go, both with Smart Launcher by SymbianWare, and the Extended Menu from PsiLoc when that is released.

FYI: Beta One has just hit 300 downloads :angel:

i tried smart launcher and i dont like it. i dont want a new menu, i like the one that came with the phone. and i dont want to many progs running at the same time.
i just want to get rid of these old ugly icons after i have the ones that you made on my phone!!

so please, dont stop, help us changing all the icons that are in the phone. forget about these new menus, they dont look too good and aren that usefull.. just make all icons 3 d 😉

I believe that j2k is just making a small vacation or he just paused his work because he is tired. But will come back with many new ideas and development solutions. What i was hoping is to see the developers of free programs to cooperate... My advice j2k: speak with some other developers (like domi the fxplorer creator) and exchange ideas, share your developments. And most importantly take your time, it's not a full time job but a hobby (after all you create a freeware program) i can wait for more than a year for your app to come (after that period i may buy another phone 😃). Just don't loose hope because you can at least inspire people with your creations.

MemphisX is right - I'm just taking a short break, to see how things go. Of course, with the launch of SmartLauncher, I'm seeing how the Icon Changer can be improved... If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to send me a PM.

... And I've just noticed that the download counter for Beta One has flipped over to 500! Wahey!
