Time for Tibia?
Despite what one might think, MMOs on mobile phones are actually not just possible but in existence. In fact one MMORPG has been running for four years, and was available on the first gen N-Gage. It's called TibiaME, and is the mobile cousin of the PC MMORPG Tibia. It's available for Symbian S60 3rd Edition phones, which means it will work on all N-Gage-compatible models. You can get it right now from the official TibiaME website.
Graphics-wise time hasn't been kind to TibiaME, the client is still almost identical to that of four years ago (though the developers are now working on a more modern-looking high resolution version). However, TibiaME's actual gameplay is massively multiplayer, you really do see the other players wandering around in the same game world as you. You can talk to them, swap items with them, and go on quests together. The game world is ENORMOUS, and there's plenty to see and do.
CipSoft, the developers of TibiaME, probably have more experience running a mobile phone MMORPG than any other company, and it might be interesting if Nokia asked them to do some kind of MMO project for the new N-Gage platform.
