Arena needs to move beyond rankings

The launch of the N-Gage platform was supposed to bring a new wave of online connected gaming to mobile phones, but the games so far are almost all based around online high score tables. Could this be severely harming the platform? What about all the people who don't give a monkeys about having the highest number on a list? And whatever happened to the "always on" innovation that wi-fi and flat rate 3G were supposed to bring to phone gaming? As always on AAN, the opinions of editorials are strictly those of the author, and opinions are most welcome in the comments thread.
