More games appear on Ovi Store

Ovi Store has just had its first batch of additional games added to it, listed below, and there have also been a number of new applications added too including Nokia-made freeware such as Nokia Maps and Nokia Internet Radio. Hopefully we'll see a stream of new releases from now on as the OS roll-out continues to include more devices, more countries and more payment methods.

Games added to Ovi Store today:

- Bubble Popper Deluxe

- Desperate Housewives

- Die Hard 4.0

- Pet Me

- Pro Golf World Tour 2010

- The Simpsons: Minutes To Meltdown

(NOTE: Not every game is available on every phone.)

There also seem to be even more games waiting in the wings which appear in searches but aren't yet available when you click on them. The N-Gage titles have also been spotted in related items boxes but clicking shows they aren't yet available either.

It's interesting to contrast Ovi Store's approach to N-Gage. Ovi Store clearly has no problem getting large numbers of releases (255 titles on day one, more added just days later) whereas N-Gage struggles to get one release a week. However, N-Gage's games tend to be higher quality and one third of N-Gage games are very high quality exclusive titles published by Nokia themselves.

To use an analogy, N-Gage is a multiplex cinema whereas Ovi Store is a television station.
