I've been keeping up with this app, sounds great but as I've only just orderd my 3650 I cant test it yet so was wondering if anyone can post sample photos from the app, mabye with the same photo taken using the built in software to compare the difference ?
Cheers
Hi there! 😃
I'm Ferdi from the Netherlands.
I just made my self a litle test.
I made a pic with the standard 3650 photo app.
Also made a pic with Photographer2.0
And with Jan-Soft app. in Monochrome, Colour 420, 422, 444.
All the pic's where made in the best quality that was available for the used app's.
Can people post more comparisons pics please?
Also how is the app coming along? 😊 Sounds fab!
I agree .. this jan-soft camera app is cool.
The images that it took really amazes me
After I install the app.. I get "Beta Expired" when I attempt to take a picture... Where can I get a newer version?
Thanks!
i would love to see an update on this app also
Hi folks!
I will try to make a new beta with a prolonged expiration date as I haven't been able to finish the "sharp" version 😉

😞I get the same message, when I try to make a picture
Do you guys read all the posts,or just the ones that suit you? One post up,Bagis, the author of the applications said that he will make a prolonged beta.I think that really explains the "beta expired" problems 😃

Hehe, seems that some people reads 1/2 of the posts.
Waiting for new release, so i could test it. 😊
I have now uploaded a new beta that will expire on Oct 1 2003. To d/l go to the first post in this thread 😊 Have fun and please remember to report problems, suggestions, whatever 😉
Thanks, Baggis for the extended version!
But i encountered a problem, when i tried to take a shot, the following err appear: "Jan-Soft: System error!"
I am using nok3650 and have tried installing on both phone and MMC memory. But problem persists.
Please advise :fadein: .
Oh, gotta test it when i get home...
worked fine for me

I have heard about problems like that, too sad I don't know why it happens... Too me, and to several others, it works OK. Which version is your firmware? Are you running other programs at the same time? I extended the beta so that more people could test it and report back errors like this, so I appreciate you did! I will try to find some time to look into if there is something to do, at least try to improve the error messages it gives so that "debugging" gets easier 😊
sorry, but can anyone teach me how to check firmware on nok 3650?
Punch the following from standby screen (as if you are dialling a phone number)
*#0000#
After you punch the last # you should see a screen that shows you the FW version.

Thanks a lot!
I got this on the display:-
ver is 2.5
13-02-2003
NHL-8
Btw, my phone is pretty new without any installation before. Maybe i try going to nokia care to upgrade my firmware 😉
Tested your software. Works great and quality is way better than with Photographer, but of course picture size is bigger.
It would be nice though, if it would save the settings... And option to take off that camera 'click' sound. I don't like it! :P
Great software!

2.5 is what I have too, and I don't think there is a newer version available. Like I wrote in the first post this app is my first attempt to make a Symbian Series 60 app, even though I have many years C/C++ experience, so I can't use previous knowledge about Symbian to solve problems or even better avoid them, hehe. What bugs me is that in a "well defined environment" like I thought Symbian was there shouldn't be these "strange" things happening. It is like in Windows, hehe, and that isn't good.. 😉
Did I ask you about the setting for storing the images? Phone or MMC?

Cool that you belong to the lucky people it works for, haha! (See post above)
I will add saving of the settings in coming releases. (In fact there is one user that says it saves for him! That is almost "magic" as I haven't added any specific code which does that, hehe)
Also, a setting for camera click on/off will be added 😊

Nice one. Would be better if would say something like... "Image saved" or "Picture saved" after it saves the picture. Because it takes some time to save of course.
I took a picture with best quality and size was 500KB, but quality was nice.
Now i got Photographer, Camera FX and JanSoft Camera on my phone. 😊

I store all images to MMC. I have also tried change the store to Phone, but problem persists.
I have pass the prog to my colleague who jus bought a 3650, waiting for his feedback.
Is there any way to put this app on the right softkey to replace the 'normal' cam.
Surley someone can write an app to do this?
Keep up the good work Baggis 😊
Will

Great! I need all feedback and information I can get about problems like this in order to find the right remedy 😉

Yep, i'm waiting for program like this. It would be nice to have software that would allow us put installed software to left and right softkey. But i'm wondering why there isn't software like this. Is it even possible to make software like this?
Did a quick research but found nothing about how to do that so far. Somehow it should be possible I think 😉

Hehe, maybe someday... :P
Nokia 3650
V2.50
13-02-003
HNL-8
Original nokia 16mb MMC CARD.
Software installed on the card, no problems what so ever. (i'm expecting a 64mb card in the post anyday soon, so i'll see if that thows up any funnies.
I like this software alot, with the quality set to 100% images coming in at around 500Kb each but in much better quality than the normal Nokia cam.
I only have two things that i thought could be "Fixed" so to speak.
1. the delay in the camera click sound, you take the pic, then about 10 seconds later the camera click sounds. would like the click to sound when i press down on the D-pad.
2. When i go into settings and make my adjustments, although i click save, it doesn't actually save? so everytime i want to use it, i have to manually go in and change the settings again (i.e up the quality)
Appart from that i'm very impressed, and like it a lot, keep up the excellent work!
