New camera application
I only have two things that i thought could be "Fixed" so to speak.

1. the delay in the camera click sound, you take the pic, then about 10 seconds later the camera click sounds. would like the click to sound when i press down on the D-pad.
This is something I will change so that it clicks when the pic is captured by the camera instead like now after the pic is saved to the memory, something that takes long when the quality is set high, as you have noticed, hehe.
2. When i go into settings and make my adjustments, although i click save, it doesn't actually save? so everytime i want to use it, i have to manually go in and change the settings again (i.e up the quality)
You, like several others, have not paid enough attention to the readme-file shown at installation 😉 It says saving is not implemeted yet, hehe. You see the main reason I made the app was to test the different settings of the camera, therefore there is little "features" 😉 However, it seems people like it so I have got encouraged to make it "more complete" 😃

Appart from that i'm very impressed, and like it a lot, keep up the excellent work!
Thanks! 😃

Yeah, i must admit, i'm not one for reading instructions, and read me's 😃

not untill it all goes horribly wrong or gets the better of me 😉

Right... when your phone starts emitting strange noises and dialing the Kremlin all by itself then you worry. By the time the FSB (i.e KGB) arrives at your doorstep you will have finally figured out how to stop the annoying calls to the president and it's time to try to explain to the guys in Uniform that IT WASN'T ME.

MWAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAA

so should i try this or not

i read it takes better pics but in what way bigger than 640x480 or is its the same size just better looking.

does it do a better job of taking clear pic if i move while clicking couse that would help alot.

i saw a post of two pics but they look the same to me

The file sizes are larger, hence the pic's look better (less compression), i may be imagining it, but it looked like it also got rid of some of the barrel distortion you get round the edge of pics you take with the normal nokia cam?

Great app! Takes pretty good quality images. I also like the option of taking black and white images!
Although I'd use it, and it's pretty clever, I wouldn't go and buy it unless it had significant improvements over the built-in camera, like Digital Zoom would make me buy it in an instant, as the normal camera is very wide-angle.

also, what is the difference between all the different colour modes??

Hi Baggis, just a wee update, i received my 64mb MMC card yesterday, i had ordered it from www.7dayshop.com, the sticker on the card is a big Green A with a 1 in the center of it, so i'm assuming that is the brand name A1?

ANyway to got a long storg short, i installed JS-Can to the MMC Card and it's running fine, no problems at all.

Infact everything i've installed to the Card is working fine, including Hip-Cam and Photographer2.0

yay.

Hows the new version coming along my man?

I feel like I let you nice people down as I can't make any promise as to when I will have the time to "finish" the app... 😞 I have so many things to do this time of the year (summer here at last!!). Also, since many of you have made it clear it isn't a "worth to pay for" app it gets lower "prioritized" as I as everyone has to make a living 😉

I have overcome the "system err" problem 😃

Everything works fine after I changed my MMC. I jus bought a new 64M sandisk MMC, and application works!

Cool!! But I don't understand why, hehe... Do you mean you also are able to install it on the phone now? You wrote before that it failed both on phone and MMC.

I have no problem installing your program on my original mmc or phone, but somehow i got err when using it. I also don't understand why

actually i have no intention to install your progr on my new mmc but jus happen that my colleague wanted me to try.
it was ok but it drains the memory quikly
Ooops... Memory leaks, hehe. Looks like the app needs a real tune up service 😉

"Unable to open"?? That sounds real strange, it doesn't open images, it takes and saves them 😉 What are you doing when it happens?

Works great! Quality is excelent, even if it's bit dark.

This is great program Baggis. I hope you continue working on this program. 😊

Tested Nokia's original software, JanSoft, Photographer and CameraFX.
I like JanSoft better. 😊

Cool! 😃

Which settings did you use in your test?

I will not stop working on the program, that is if I survive the holidays(vacation) I will be on for the next coming 5 weeks, hehe. (Will be passing Oulu at least 2 times during that time, please wave to me when I drive by 😉 )
Which settings did you use in your test?
I used best settings on every program.

I will! 😊

Hehe, sure nice that you feel happy and are satisfied with the app! Now start suggest how to improve it even further 😊 I will add an option to enable/disable the camera click sound as someone didn't like it, but more?

i just downloaded it my self and it works good. i got the same error a few times too. if you exit out of the program to fast after you take a pic it will only save half the pic then give you an unable to open error. just sent the file to your computer it will open it and you will see half of what you took.

ok so this program work for me and i've been playing with it. taking pics with both the build in program and the new one. but i'm having a hard time finding any differnts the js-cam may be a little better at night but only in a few pics not all. the file size is much bigger so i'm thinking they must be better. but it hard to see it.

and what is the bitmap for, its very big and i can't find a program that will open it on my computer

but all in all it works

i attached a pic that the phone couldn't open

ok heres some pics from the stock camera and jan solf.

am i missing the diff in the pic

it could just be me

And here's a feature request which I had already for ages when looking at very dark photos (like the ones just posted): If you compare those pics you'll realize that very much of the speckled colored noise which can be seen on the dark parts of the image reappears almost exactly the same way on the other images done with the very same individual CCD chip as well. This is a typical phenomen observed with CCD's.

In astrophotography you deal with this problem like this: The user creates a so called "Dark Image" (usually by covering the front lense of the camera) which shows just the noise on the otherwise black background. From all subsequently taken photos you just subtract the (properly weighted) dark image. That way you get much better image quality.

For the Nokia 3650 it would be nice if the user would be able to define an image as a "Dark Image". Once you create further images (e.g. at night) the camera software should subtract the assigned "Dark Image" automatically (provided a "Dark Image" has been created already and the feature was enabled by the user).

This would result in HUGE quality improvements for photos taken at night e.g. .

Aha! Thank you for your suggestion, as well as your information about how CCD's works! I will give this a try later on when I will start working on the next release, hehe!
