well these phones hav their own advantages and disadvantages and they r kind of equal
stop comparing these phones and wait till they come out and buy one or maybe buy both. So u can choose which one u r gonna use. For example when driving use 6600 and when wanna hear radio use SX-1 😃 😃 😃
no need to comparing stuff cos there will be endless posibility of which is better, it actually comes from people perspective :agrue:
Hm guys, you are right about the e606. But now after using it for two weeks i still like it. Videocalls are still amazing me. the download of perfect quality video clips aswell. (News, weather, sport etc, some of them live and realtime!!!) And all the other functions like the geo map etc. It is amazing! Yes battery sucks, yes it is not too small and sometimes you have the feeling of beeing a beta tester, but this is just the beginning. the next generation of 3g devices will blow away the rest.
But one nice thougt: Imagine the SX1 with 3g features.... Yes i guess i would die for it....! He he...
@guest
the good features that u r all mentions is features which offered by the Operator such as "3" so it's not really the phone is good but the Operator services is good.
there is Motorola A920 which is using Symbian UIO with 3g capabilities
Ups, sorry, didnt log me in. (Guest above).
Well, there are also some things they dont have under control in the 3 network in austria right now. The network is not 100% reliable. E.g sms, Mailbox. But mostly it is great.
The A920 seems to be great (and huge) but i couldnt find any detailed information about it. UK Homepage says you can not make videocalls, Australian one says you can. Anyhow I think its worth taking a look, anybody got some more details?
macisback, I need your nokia logo do you now somewhere I can download it in good definition....
Another thing would be,although a romour, the SX1 might support SD cards.
It won't.
TCP/IP means normal internet connections.... and thus webpages like this can be viewed?
TCP/IP means normal internet connections.... and thus webpages like this can be viewed?
Not necessarily as that depends on the capabilities of the browser. However, you already have access to webpages like this today with current phones (several HTML browser products are available - Anygraaf Doris, Access NetFron, Reqwireless WebViewer, Opera - and work using GPRS internet access points).
Although being Symbian Os 6, the SX1 is far more feature packed than the Symbian Os 7 6600.
4x Digital Zoom
Stereo Output
Radio
USB
Smaller
I would go for the 6600 if it had Stereo and Radio. I don't mind the zoom. But for now I'm going for the SX1. ( If it ever comes out this year 😃 )
are you sure about smaller? 😮
Yes,you can check here: http://www.siemenssx1.com/
Hmm, smaller, but only just.
6600: 108.6x58.2x23.7 113cc
SX-1: 109x56x19 110cc
(this is according to Nokia and Siemens sites)
So I'd say they are pretty much the same size.
Er, USB? Missed that on the SX-1 page, mind you, the whole site is a nightmare to navigate... One up for Nokia there at least 😊
Still a little concerned about the SX-1 keypad, will have to try it out in the shop.
Yes,it has USB.The keypad might be a little strange, but what would you say about the 3650 😉
ido noe that siemens fones have very quick depreciation...
m55 is now retailing like dirt cheap but also because its interface sucks and the phone is ugly...
Sx1 could be the way to go but it looks like it's gonna break the thousand dollar mark here in Singapore which i expect people to go and buy SE P900
just wondering after the 6600, will the next symbian fone be a fashion one with xpress on covers...
7650, 3650, 6600, ??
23.7 as opposed to 19 mm it is huge difference!!!!!!!!!
Also:
SX1: Better build quality, better battery,radio,mp3(6600 only mono output),mmc easily replaceable by user(not as 6600 in the interior),more memory in RAM(8 mb in user vs 6 mb in 6600).
Do you want more?????
SX1 is much better, but it will come later 😞
...more???
Ok: better gprs(class 10 in sx1), 2 years warranty(at least in greece only siemens provide that)....
what else????
Guest from Greece, for me there is no doubt SX1 will be an extremely well featured phone. A while ago it would be by far the best choice. But now, do you think it is wise that it's hitting the market after a series60 v 2.0 phone? Almost a year and a half after the first series60 phone? I believe Siemens delayed this far too much, so now has to compete with a new version of the O/S!
And its keypad is certainly a bad choice for most of us wanting to be able to type decently, just like the 3650 was. Siemens should have seen the difficulty in typing on the 3650 and avoid doing the same mistake!
The two above reasons would make me and possible many others think twice about purchasing the SX1...
Too bad SX1 isnt a Nokia, otherwise I might have to buy it. 😉
anyways, 6600 just looks much better to my eye, and traditional keypad is always a plus for me.
petran,i doubt that most of the users will even know that the 6600 is a Series 60 v 2.0 phone and the SX1 is Series 60 1.x phone. But they will definitely notice the FM radion,Stereo output and the built-in mp3 player.IMO,the SX1 being a S60 v 1.x is not a big setback, you have loads of apps in your disposal and the interface is familiar. On the other hand, the SX1 doesn't have Nokia writen all over it,which is a biger setback then UI version or the keyboard 😃
My vote goes for the SX1.
U can download an mp3 player for the 6600 just like the 3650. If u want a full music player just get the 3300
Yeah, but the SX1 has it built-in,btw,why should i buy the 3300 when the SX1 can perform as good.

bcos not everyone is really to throw in as much money on a SX1 when yopu can pay less and achieve the same, if not more with a made-for-music 3300. Besides, Siemens' implemenation of stuff and built quality isnt all that celebrated. Even when Nokia f__ks up, it's miles better than a Siemen.
Funny but I know and I am sure most people, more than the features, will notice SX1's keypad arrangement which will then a big turn off for them and just completely forget about the phone!
Espcially if they realize a phone like this will come out and beat the he.ll out of SX1

How can you achieve more with a NOS Series 40,limited,just a phone like the 3300 then with a Symbian Series 60 loaded with features SmartPhone like the SX1?
Like i said many time before,IMO,the 6600 will sell more then the SX1 for one reason, its not features, its not the keypad, its the Nokia logo which the SX1 does not have. There are a lot more shmoes that are dying to get the latest Nokia then the latest Siemens.
BTW:The provided link does not work.

I agree that siemens is too late with this phone, but that doesn't can make us ignore the fact that sx1 is superior.
SX1's keypad, with the appropriate skill could beat 6600's keypad(let's wait and see).
@ Jag: Yes you can download an mp3 player but with mono output it will sound like....potatoes(i was thrown away with the bad quality of that in 3650).
Summarizing:
SX1 is much much better in every aspect, but finally it will loose the battle,it is too late(december) and it is not nokia(i hate saying that, but the mass market is going after the brand)!!
The only reason I'm gonna buy a 6600 instead of the SX1 is that it'll be easier to play games on, which I do a lot of at the mo on my 7650.
Imagine trying to play Doom with the SX1 keypad, I know it's possible with just the joystick but it won't be very enjoyable!
It is a cooler looking phone though...

I just imagined it.And it would be great, especially for games that can be played in landscape mode like Doom.

I never thought of that! Brilliant!!
Now I'm seriously looking at the SX1, especially with it's 24Mg internal RAM...
Tom,there is 24MB of RAM on the SX1,but the question is how much will be available after bootup,my guess is 8 or 10MB,i hope i'm wrong though.
