I also noticed that on the flip open there arent any pointers on the back of the keypad to touch the screen (Check out your P800 keypad flip on how these pointers should look like..)

I allready mentioned that on page 4 Muzikfreakah...
BTW How does the flip work, since it doesn't have such "stylus-points" underneath the keys...
It doesn't really matter if this is a dummy or not. It will probably still look this way

The flip demonstrates what SE should have had all along....an electronic flip.

This flip will still be removable but will no longer rely on the [hard to push] mechanical contact buttons currently on the P800. This will be much better to use for dialing as it will be a soft push. If you notice the tabs which cause many people grief when one breaks (I'm one of them) are also gone and replaced by a chamfered edge which can't break or cause problems.

This could be a very good replacement for the P800 but I'd hate to have to spend another $650 on a phone within a year. BUT if the P810 is released and it's much better than the P800, I'll definately get it. I'm sure my daughter wouldn't mind having a P800 😉

Just spoke with a friend who deals with SE/Vodafone all the time. He showed me an internal powerpoint showing the new p810 and it says q4 of this year. go to http://mobile.burn.com to check out some pics. blurry, but true i'm afraid...

What about specs, features?Only thing i've been hearing is the 1.3 MegaPixel camera. If the p810 has nothing more to offer but just a couple of minor shiny improvements i'll get the p800.

I would just like to point out once more that I'm still not buying into this whole thing. I have yet to see any reliable source for these "news". This whole thing started with the article printed on the Swedish site Mobil.se and has escalated beyond belief, even having more "respectable" media copying the article.

Mobil.se has everyone believing it since they are referring to an interview with one of the "top dogs" within Ericsson allegedly printed in one of the biggest news papers in Sweden(Svd), but like I've mentioned two times in this thread already, a quick search through Svd.se brings up N O T H I N G concerning this.

And after Mobil.se's (a site well known for it's aversion to check out the reliability of their sources) publication the rumours has spreaded like a plague with more and more people claiming to have some inside information, even bad quality pictures supposedly portraying a P810. And untill this is confirmed with some real proof by what/who I would consider to be a trustworthy site/person, I will only take it for what it is; A RUMOUR!

When that is said, this alleged P810 is supposed to have a 1.3MP digital camera, a 16 bit colour screen(approx. 65K colours), physically thinner than the P800, a better keypad and the newest version of the Symbian OS(Symbian 7.0s) and interface(UIQ v.2.1).

I'm with Raven. Until it is confirmed it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Raven, you are quite right.....it's a rumor. A rumor being defined as: "a statement or report current without known authority for its truth".

But....the pictures and the specs that have been rumored to date are very believable. Mobile phones have these types of specs already.

So....a rumor it is....but it's not a rumor that puts it ahead of what technology is doing today which makes it very believable.

Sure, Cranium, I'm not saying that it isn't believable, but I just find it annoying to see all these different web sites(some of them having a fairly good reputation) posting these P800 "news" solely based on the article in Mobil.se and various rumours from around the web. Which is really poor journalism IMO. And untill(IF) this will be confirmed by SE I think we should just treat it for what it is(rumour).

Can't argue with you there. 😃

Could actually be confusion with this Sony Ericsson handset

although the picture seems to be different from the one posted previously.

Gents - i looked at an INTERNAL Vodofone powerpoint presentation. it showed the phone and the model #. and q4 was next to it. it was clear as day. nobody was trying to pull the bullshit that the swedish site was (fake picture), the presentation wasnt for public view.

do not use unnappropriate language..moderators try to keep the froum clean but its guest like you who come and swear..and ruining the moderators hard work !

No it isn't. This phone is for the Japanese market only! I think the P810 is real, and I hope/think this will be confirmed by SE soon

I kind of hope its real in the sense that its call but I can't of hope its not on the grounds that I paid nearly 1000 for my phone in December 😞

Well personally i dont really care if its real or not. It looks promising though. I am still currently satisfied with my P800 and enjoying its usefulness. If SE did indeed come up with a new fone by Q4, then ill check it out. If the features are really great and warrants a replacement, then ill get it. n the meantime, enjoy your P800 guys 😊

hi i just want to say they should give P810 some time to launch for 1 year atleast
meantime they should give upgrades in P800 .like video recorder
and lot of other things can be given 😃

quote="Anonymous"]It ‘s logic that SE upgrade the P800 to P810, After Nokia unveils the 6600,
The improvement are good, however I kept my p800
and won’t change it until major upgrade (Wifi, CPU, Memory, UMTS&#8230😉
Oh yessss, P810 better have video recording feature and solve ALL if not most of the problems in P800.

Surely the first picture is homemade. Second picture looks like real size compareing (or not)...

Still waiting Sony Ericsson's announcment...

I have just come from a presentation for our company by Vodafone talking about their mobile data and 3G roadmaps. Within this presentation they showed Sony Ericsson P810 and T710 due out 4th quarter 2003.

It would appear the rumours are true. No details on what the P810 has over the P800 though.

I'm just hearing blah, blah blah blah, blah.

Identify yourself guest! 😊 And your credentials to back up your claim. An anonymous post bears ZERO weight for validation of a rumor.

We need some validation people, all the information at the moment is just rumour and innuendo... All I want to know is what is the P810, what are its specs and when will it be released?

Does this mean the end of any support for the P800?

Im going insane here! Can someone with some creditials put me out of my misery

Can't anyone see that the second pic is a photoshop stitching merely the front view (the by now famous P810o.jpg) with another photo of the P800, brightened and contrasted and all?

Yeah I think we can all see that brick, but it does not change the fact that it seems the P810 or a similar model is on the way... or is it? :-?
