PSILOC Space Doubler ...... Awesome App!
and something really amazing happened ... in the compress list ... it shows that my seleQ compression ratio is 103% yes 103% and it has a little zip icon with it .. when i click on it in the list is just say decompressing then return to the same 103% ... then when i click on the seleQ icon itself(on the menu) it just open without any decompression.. hmmmm...

another one is it screwed my eProfiles .. ...the apps is totally corrupt when it is decompressed .... the file became 6k rather than 60 over k ..

for ur info, i'm using the 1.00F version on 3.12 firmware. the previous 0.99 version is fine btw. ...
I got this with seleq as well when I changed mt op logo and the phone restarts. Because it restarts then seleq is in a decompressed state it still shows the little zip icon and 103% compressed. Uncompress it and then recompress it once the phone has restarted and all goes back to normal, well it did for me.

No problems here with eprofiles, works well.

Bug? Wrong numbers?

Using SeleQ:
Application folder before compressing: 50.56Kb
Application folder after compressing: 25.74Kb

=>> Program saved 24.82Kb, not 29Kb as SpaceDouble shows

After compressing of 4 applications:
Spacedouble shows that 136Kb were saved, but actually it's 84Kb only 😮 !

Seemd like it doesn't count its own additional files
it adds in every application folder

Is it on my device only? Or is it a global bug?

(sDoubler v. 1.00(0) - trial)

My Memory info:

2.795 kB Applications
1.274 kB Saved space
1.495 kB Other data
1.076 kB Free memory
1.872 kB Free RAM

Not even one problem so far, and as you can see I don't even have space to unpack everything. Seems that the other companies should pay credit for this app, for allowing much more applications to be installed in the phone 😊

Yes, right you are - awesome application!

but i want to know exact amount of saved space, coz i'm trying to compare the compression rate between sDouble and sCompress.

So far, sCompress does compression about 5-10% better than sDouble. But there is no decompressing on the fly :-? :x

I've emailed Symbianware about it, and their reply:

"...Yes, we are working on the new version of SmartCompress, it will include many improvements including Packing/Unpacking applications on the fly (optionally) ...".

So while my trial is not over i'll wait a little and will see

But for sure i'll purchase one of them 8)

Hey ppl ~

indeed the space douber is good.

But After i try it my phone go crashing.

you can try this :

uninstall it and u see what happen to all the file been compress..
the files logo go broken.
cannot work properly phone system keep hang / crash .
then the s doubler logo cannot remove.
System abit slow .
ringtone if u set to wave file, someone call u the wave file jam then become other ring tones.

I need to re format my phone again. !

OK, I've got space doubler, top app, but I was trying to download some sounds from the Orange WAP site, and instead of going to the recorder, whe I tried to download Space Doubler kicked in and unzipped VideoMMS (The Italian version) Anyone got an idea on this? Don't want to end up having to reformat again just to get the phone running properly. TIA

You cant zip Jar files, but files that are created from JAR files...like highscore files, setings files etc.

Same thing happens when you get an MMS containing an AMR file and you choose "options, objects" and then click on the AMR. It opens it with VideoMMS, with or without SpaceDoubler. I wish it didn't, though. 😞

Yeah I have the latest version.

Thanks Petran, that makes sense. I did have to reset my phone anyhow, I lost some info before I could do a backup. Filemanager showed the program was on the phone, but the icon had disappeared. Filemanager couldn't delete it to allow me to re-install, though. So I got my soundfiles before installing videoMMS again. Backed up and all working fine now.
I second the motion! 😃
really nice to have a filipino around to back ye up! 😃

ayos pare!!! 8)

I think that there will be a newer version of this App in a few days.

Great App...MUST BUY!!!

:x-mas:

Well i had the trial for a bit and deemed it unworthy - Only saved 100k [200k minus 100k overhead] and i have quite a bit installed... Got a lil annoyed at waiting tho ... decompressing / compressing etc... If you got plenty of compresable apps then its good i suppose

I am very impressed with sDoubler. However, if you're a user who's phone has mostly system type applications that run all the time (Active Desk, Task Manager, Screensaver etc), don't bother because these will remain uncompressed for the vast majority of the time.

Also, remember to uncompress before upgrading any software! I almost lost Handy Car because of this 😮ops: !

Hello,

We were uploaded TEST version 1.05 of Space Doubler (this is pre-release, public beta test version).

If anyone interested, it can be downloaded from http://psiloc.com/pub/sDoubler_test.sis.

What's new:
- additional checks for both compressing and decompressing functions
- decompresing are now done via temporary file names (then file is checked and finally renamed to correct name, thanks to Kobe24 for this feature)
- "Safe mode" functionality added (if enabled, after compressing every file will be verified)
- Messages and Java apps may be removed from applications list
- new "memory info" view
- many cosmetic changes

Please send feedback to me ([email protected]) or directly to main Space Doubler programmer ([email protected]).

BR,

Robert

That's the beauty and asset of their company. A GREAT APP, +++ GREAT SUPPORT!!!

CHEERS!

Seems that Screensaver app can be compressed and still work, even if it is a system app.

Hopefully the new features will not increase to much the application size, and the temporary file used for decompression will not create an out of memory situation or let there undeleted. Think about RealOne, that have files as bigger as almost 400k.

8) wonderful application. I just installed the beta version. I was able compress World Clock Pro too. I thought it was not possible since world clock works in background. any idea?

I think the question was about why background features of World Clock (e.g. changed format of date and time and alarms) are still working when World Clock is compressed. The same happens with Screensaver app, the screesavers are still running even if the app is compressed. And the same happens with Extended Profiles app, the profiles are still changed automatically, even if the app is compressed.

And the answer is that SpaceDouble compress only UI part of the applications which resides in Apps folders, and will not compress other dlls that run in the background, and that are installed somewhere in system folders.
