ok i have many ugs with my N80ie so i have been checking everyday for a update well today on nokia site on the updater i noticed n70/n70me i scrolled down and seen n80/n80ie
well tured my updater on plugged phone in and it says a update is now available
at mo i have
4.0632.0.38
new firmware is
4.0707.07
as i have changed my product code i dont want to kill a �200 pound phone begin nosey, so has anyone got to this version yet? anybody no any info on it??

what do you mean by leaks?
When you boot up your phone for the first time there's about 17mb of ram. But after you've used applications and gone into the gallery a few times the ram falls, sometimes to below 10mb even if you've closed everything. :icon13: When you close all apps the ram should just go back to the 17mb it was at first bootup. This is why the low memory message is so common on the n80. It's problably too early for you to tell if this has been fixed or not but the fact that you say you can surf the net without the memory message is a good sign so far. I'm really hoping they fix this and maybe get an extra day of battery life wouldn't be bad either. Then who needs an N95! 😉

i have fexplorer and belive me it gets to under a few MB sometimes
ok so i ran
web - music player - msn - fexplorer - truphone - and sent a txt
went to 3000 sumat KB
closed all apps bar the fexplorer and it went straight to 14mb
it has alot more secure features aswell for net and apps :icon14:
the fonts looks a little better on the main screen aswell but that could be me :redface:
apart from that and the way it runs smoother i cant find much more about any fixes

welllllll on my list of about 50 N80ie product codes the one you just put is'nt there
but it shows up the code for the ie firmware on the online checker thingy

another thing is my black theme is now fixed it writes white txt in the address bar of the web app insted of black on black
armada741 this is the 1st update since the ie software was launched so i guess this is for the bugs more than anyhing else, but i do hope to see new stuff added aswell, but you cant really say that when you had a n80 and changed to n80ie you didnt get new stuff can ya :tongue:

Free RAM after restart: ~18,3 mb
Phone is running faster, I can feel it. (and is not my mind!)
I'll hard reset the phone (green button + 3 + *). I don't like Yahoo Search and all the other Apps that Nokia install after an update. I like to keep my N80 clean!
Do you wanna know the free Ram after I hard reset?

Is it worth it to upgrade to this firmware. Any new apps. Its going to take forever to reinstall everything so i wont be upgrading except if the firmware is very good.
Upgraded today and there still appears to be a slight memory leak, although it has slightly improved. So far no memory error messages during web browsing and one major improvement is that you can zoom images several times without any out of memory messages. :icon14: I don't no if it's just me but I've taken a few photos after the upgrade and the photo quality is even more $hithouse than before, if thats possible! :frown:

photos seem fine to me
one thing i noticed though is... when you lock the keypad it's in stanby mode 15 seconds from that :icon14:
