Can anyone confirm if Music Player now retains album art added using the native features without having to retain the image on the phone ?
V.21.0.016 to hit the N95-1 soon
Yay. Used the software from the other reply and flashed successfully!
Thank you!

How comes I can't update...? Still says V 20.0.015.
Is it because it's been released in other countries 1st?

neilhoskins wrote:Aaaaahhh.... so it changes from portrait to landscape automatically? 'Rotateme'-style?
No it isn't auto-rotating it just plays the cips in 'widescreen' so you have to rotate it to watch. If you check again you'll see it is when he plays the video fullscreen that it changes orientation BEFORE he rotates the phone.
i dont see any major attractions in v21
whats all teh fuss about ??!
The main attraction is Flash integration. There are other alleged improvements like battery life but if you aren't fussed about flash i'd wait and see what a few weeks of use from early adopters tell us about that before deciding.

Its been released to NSC's and also some naughty people who have got a cracked version of Pheonix and a copy of the firmware and done it themselves. 😉

Which unusually is still linked in this very thread. Bottom of page 4.
Thought it would disappear much sooner.

I think the 'link' aspect has been removed (i.e. so its not clickable), but the plain text of the address is still there.

OK, so given that this is lacking the new technology (whose acronym I still can't remember) that retains all your settings, this is my todo list. It really is quite ridiculous.. probably more complex than an XP re-install now. To save time, I think I've found the xml files that contain internet radio stations, but does anybody know where I can find bookmarks, podcast feeds, webfeeds, video centre feeds, etc, etc?
Backup calendar & contacts
backup Nokia Phone Browser\Nokia N95\Phone memory\Data\Images

Yes, its that exact reason I wont be bothering straight away... in fact, seeing as I dont care for flash on my N95 over having to reinstall everything to how I want it, so I'll skip it for now unless I hear its going to offer more than just that... battery life seems to be the only one of interest.
If Nokia can provide the firmware update to it's service centres, why not have it on NSU? All they have to do is upload it to their server for all to use.
To coin a phrase from a well known television figure:
Jeremy Clarkson wrote:How hard can it be?
I dunno... Im not an NSU person. 😉
But, the service centres dont update in the same way... or at least they didnt...
would be worthwhile Nokia making it one... as it is doing the exact same function if they havent already.
for those that have upgraded to v21 - has anyone noticed a difference in music quality(through headphones)? some have said that it has improved, is that really the case? thanks!
jinx405 wrote:for those that have upgraded to v21 - has anyone noticed a difference in music quality(through headphones)? some have said that it has improved, is that really the case? thanks!
yes music quality is better via a headset, there is still a small amount of "hiss" tho, but the big change is music over bluetooth, i use a sony audio adapter (HWS-BTA2W) connected to my sony STR-DB790 home cinema amp (my music is always played in stereo on it and not in surround mode) and it now sounds really good, with all current firmwares the music sounded a bit hard and not quite crisp and the base was overblown, but now the music sounds smooth and lush, it has a great baseline also, it getts your feet tapping now as it should have done back when the n95 came out, also its more stable streaming the audio to both the sony adapter and my nokia BH-500 headset
Well I dont know if its me or not but after the upgrade the phone just
seems to run better. Faster turning off and the menu seems quick too.
Just need to find some widgets now...

For widgets goto mosh.nokia.com and in search put widget and ull find a few, altho most of them are pointless
When using Phoenix, does the product code matter as it does in NSU?

i was really asking christ if nokia would pull their fingers out of thier arses and get on with getting this update out onto the NSU

Yes i used v2007.4.6.170 to flash my n95 to v21
During the flash process, the phone continually froze at the first reboot.
Assumed that this was a cable driver problem and re-installed the Nokia Update S/W to get the latest drivers installed.
