V.21.0.016 to hit the N95-1 soon

Can anyone confirm if Music Player now retains album art added using the native features without having to retain the image on the phone ?

Hooray! v21 is out! Question though: my internet connection is acting up at the moment. It's very intermittant and I just know it'll cut off while the update is downloading, so if it stops part way through I know I'll have to start again.

I'd like to know, does the NSU do anything to your phone before or while the update is downloading?

No, if your connection drops whilst it is downloading the update, it will fail at that point, without touching your phone. Only once it has a complete FW downloaded will it start the update on the phone itself.

what is the really major update news in this?
Any improvements for battery time?
Mina totaly suxx, got v.20,

generallt for you guys, how many (days) or more likely hours? do you reach ?

when are nokia going to improve the NSU application.... this having to restart the download from scratch is monumentally annoying.... ESPECIALLY when you have a 116mb firmware update to download!!!!! 😡😡😡😡

Im hoping they have fixed that one!

I can confirm that this problem has been fixed in the new firmware.... wooooo hoooooooooooooooooo

The sad thing is that my personal internet is limited to 8kb/s for the rest of the month and that's still faster than the work's internet here.....

Cheers. I'm updating my phone now and the connection dropped when I got to 90mb/116.4mb. Here's something I'm not sure everyone knows, but when I started the update again it continued from 90Mb again. So it's official... the NSU supports resuming downloads 😊

anyone notice a difference in music quality thru earphones?? is it better?? cant wait to update my phone - sadly it has to wait till tomorrow!

thanks!!

I tried to download the update but it made it 42.5mb (in 3,5 hours) and died.... and when i pressed retry it started from the beginning again.... 😞 so i will try again tonight... hopefully with more luck...

why would it be better, same chit noise in background isnt usually a software problem.
BTW just tested. my SE w660i last for 16hours of constant music playback, how long did my n95 last? barley 6hours.
Shame!
what about you other guys?

Barely. Maybe it's just me but even over wifi I found the iPlayer very slow. Still, at least it works and the BBC supposedly have a mobile version of the standalone app on the way so that will be cool.
Nice to have YouTube though and the 'full screen' option for flash video is good too.

YouPorn works as well 😉

I don't know if it's me or what but the music sounds a bit louder and the bass is heavier in Bass Boost (which I normally have selected anyway). Also, I've noticed the music doesn't click and jutter when I'm quickly scrolling through my music lists. This could be down to it being a fresh install though.

I see what you mean about the iPlayer! I hate to compare to the iPhone again but its a chalk and cheese comparison. I hope you're right about the standalone app because it's unwatchable at the moment.

I'm actually finding a slight improvement in battery life too. Carrying out my usual web surfing and using the music player has hardly dented the battery yet. Fingers crossed!

oh just wait, battery levels show full for a pretty long time, then when first battery level is gone and its down to 6 idicators it will go lightspeed downhill

Yeah I havent seen it yet so fingers crossed 😊

"Edit for MMS" has made a comeback to the Video Editor I see

hope for all our sakes its just my phone but has anyone noticed a slight keypress bug when tapping in a text message ?

thanks for that. i just read other people (whom have updated using Phoenix last week) mentioning that the quality has slightly improved. good to know the music doesnt jutter as much - hopefully it sticks this time. i guess i will find out.. as soon as i fix my damn $#@$# backup problem. i'll repost in the main thread(or you can click on http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/71122/ if you or anyone here knows how to fix it!)

keypress bug in v12 - hell yeah! that seems soo long ago! is it really back in v21? god i hope not...

Does anyone else find that the internet is very jumpy on v21? I keep getting disconnected and asked to choose a connection, even when i'm already online?
