Yes.

I have had a large number of disconnections since upgrading.

Only occasional ones before.

dog-man

My Wifi connection's been more stable since the upgrade. Before, I'd get the occasional cut off.

Was anybody successful in installing the Nokia Podcasting application after upgrading to V21? I tried it many times in different ways (PC Suite, copy to phone, Download app) but always get the same error: "Unable to install. Component is built-in." However, it is not installed anywhere as seen in Application Manager or in the menus. I also tried to reset (soft, hard, and through NSU) and still keep getting this error. Please help me if you know how to install it, thanks!

....I still have the Podcast app in the music folder in main menu after V21 upgrade (but I did do a restore from back up after upgrade)

This thread got me thinking about power consumption on the N95-1 after the upgrade to v21.0.016. I decided to take a look myself.

I've attached a line graph of my results. The horizontal axis shows the timestamp and the vertical axis shows the power used. I have also labelled on the graph what was happening at different timeframes.

The part to pay most attention to, I think, is the bit when the backlight turns off and the screensaver kicks in. You can see that the power level is at ~0.1 - I'm not sure if this is better than before with v20.0.015 but I thought it might be useful for some people to know if they're having battery life problems and are upgrading to the newest firmware.

Also, I've noticed the music doesn't click and jutter when I'm quickly scrolling through my music lists. This could be down to it being a fresh install though.

i've finally updated to v21! i'm still exploring my phone, but i must agree, the music does sound much better than before! the jitters are gone, and the highs somewhat clearer and the bass sounds more defined. sweet 😊

i take it you're a bit of an audiophile as well, zxon?

I suppose I am. I DJ sometimes y'see.

TBH though my MiniDisc player has much better quality sound than my N95 and I'd rather use that, but I use the phone because it's more convenient.

hahah fair enough 😊 i'm a drummer and i play guitar as well... sounds quality is pretty important to me cuz i can hear the difference, even though my friends say im too eccentric... hahahha

yeah stand alone players like what you have would sound better than the n95, but the convenience is just irreplaceable. its just sooo easy to plug in a pair of earphones to listen to your music anywhere or to just plug your phone into your friend's hifi to listen to YOUR music 😉

At last!!

One hour re-installing everything but finally I have v21 FW.

We'll see now how the improvements behave

Decided todo a reïnstall of the firmware, and to perform a clean install of all programs (memory-card also formatted) -> 3MB more free memory at start-up :!:

The 1st time, after performing a full restore from memory-card, I discovered some problems:
* "Lost" programs (Smartphoneware, LCG)
* R66-v8 NOT working anymore -> had to execute the SIS-file on the DVD-ROM again!
* installed themes NOT in application manager anymore

etc . . .; most of the problems were already posted here . . .

Although: someone mentioned, he got a memory full-issue, when trying to place a custom picture at start-up?
I don't have this issue; maybe reïnstalling the firmware is an option?
I still have the memory full-issue, when opening Help (maybe too many custom programs installed !

I discovered a new BUG: however: :icon13:

When making a picture, and closing the camera application after -> the OLD menu-style is returning  (see picture 3)

So I thinks, this won't be the last firmware-update!

Happy Weekend :shakehand

Strange... your first screenshot shows "© Nokia N95 (02.01)". Mine only shows 01.01 and it's the same RM-159 as yours. What gives?

Think I've found a bug but I hope that I haven't and its just something I've done. I have the Nokia CK-20W multimedia car kit in my car and use it to play music from the phone through the car stereo via bluetooth. Since the update though I cannot change tracks using the jog dial anymore. Most annoying and I hope its just something on my phone and not the firmware otherwise its a big step backwards for me. I may now have the ability to play flash videos but I had emTube anyway so what was the point?

Imho this depends on the Product Code. Like with 0536062 it showed 1.01 but after changing it back to the original pc 0548825 it showed 2.01.

I must say that the image quality of the camera definitively improved with this update, specially at night.

I'm not sure if camera quality was part of the update. Have you got any photos of dark scenes from v20 which can be compared with your v21 ones?

TIP :icon14:

When performing a firmware-upgrade with a CLEAN install of all your programs (so: also formatting your memory-card), and you don't wanna loose your messages:

1. Make a back-up of your memory-card
2. after firmware-upgrade, copy this folder from your backup to your memory-card: \Private\1000484b\Mail2

It worked on my N95: all messages were back . . .
