First my nokia 5800 got locked on upgrading the firmware. A swap phone was supplied by company in 20 days . This phone is unable to upgrade to newer firmware version. The music content are locked. Also, the phone does not plugs into system and does not gets connected to PC Suite. Other than that the phone headphone adaptar is mulfunctioning in a months time. Phone and adaptar are now at Nokia care for replacemnet.i.e. 2 times in 2 mts. time. Also see coment 62.

Yeah apparently Nokia UK wasn't happy with the firmware so have pulled it.
Who knows when we will get it now
those who have security code problems or any other problem after updating to latest firmware v20 are required to just hard reset the phone....
hold down green key,red key and camera key simultaneously and while holding them together switch on the phone...don't release any of the keys until the phone is fully powered up and shows resetting.release the keys when phone asks for time and date to set. now phone will be reset and default code will be 12345. please make sure to backup all your data in the phone memory because after hard resetting all of your data in the phone memory would be erased.

Take it to Nokia Care and they should fix it. The phone may be formatted so back up before going there.
Hi, I just upgraded to v20.0.0.12 and I thought all was well until.....I went into the bluetooth menu. I can turn it on etc but I cannot access the other two menus (search/pair devices) at the top of the bluetooth screen (when I touch the icons nothing happens). Has anyone else experienced this and is it yet another thing that Nokia got wrong. Also how do I get screen shots from the phone.

Really? My 5800 still says not available on it's updater. Do you mean over the nokia software updater on the pc or on the phone?

Hi I have exactly the same problem with my phone. I was able to access it before but now I am unable to access the two other menu's.

i would like to share my views regarding firmware update for nokia 5800 as it is only available in select countries / region.. plz wait for the firmware to be released in your country...
if the firmware is available you can update it Over The Air (OTA) or with Nokia Software Utility (NSU)
One question? Can i do next steps to unlock my Nokia 5800 t-mobile?

Since I updated my Nokia 5800, similair to some other ppl here, the mobile does not recognise my PIN code nor the lock code. SO basic and important problem.

My Dear Friends, There is an new firmware V21.0.025 which is Selectively Available for Nokia 5800. This latest firmware update for the Nokia 5800 has started to circulate slowly. The update is available via NSU for product codes like 0575407, 0575408, 0581337 from some Asian regions only for now.

Orange UK still haven't released this for the 5800 and we're at April 29th.
Red 5800, still showing as 11.0.0.9 being the latest on NSU.
I've called Nokia and they're saying it's Nokia holding it up! Very confused customer service lady had no idea and technical support "aren't customer facing".

I try to upgrade (UK Orange, silver version) via *#0000# and all i get is "server not responding" - is this nornal?
Im having a few other issues - BBC i[layer app, if i go into it, the screen just stays black, and only when i exit the app do i see a quick bit of the iplayer. Also, Guitar Rock has locked itself

Hi All. I couldn't get the v11 to v20 upgrade OTA but got it through Nokia Software Updater via the pc.Downloaded and installed it no problem,front camera worked ok but couldn't use search on the shortcut bar,ERROR,and the dictionary and Apps upgrade were missing.Download any App OTA ie weatherbug,photoflow etc and you'll find the dictionary,search and apps upgrade are all installed and working fine.Hope this helps.
my phone "lost contact" during the update and now is completely dead, there is no response from any button and nothing works, any ideas how i get my phone back?

Just updated. One thing I noticed - and I don't think it's my imagination - is that the keys on the full QWERTY keyboard seem larger, making it easier to it them without hitting others by mistake.

I have posted this on other forums but in an attempt to get the information out to all who may still be suffering I am cross posting here too
Yes its one of those simple cases that probably wasn�t checked in testing and unfortuately will cause the classic �this thing is **bleep**� response from first time users that get themselves tangled up because it is confusing. The solution is VERY simple though provided you still know your real lock code.
1) On nokia 5800 V20 the lock code input defaults to alpha-numeric and the default code is unfortunately 12345. To input numeric simply hold the # key for a second or so and the keypad mode will change to numeric input. You will have to do this every time you input the lock code if you keep it numeric.
2) On nokia 5800 V21 the lock code input was changed to default to numeric which will work fine for people who haven�t changed their lockcode to alpha but will bite anyone who has (i.e. those upgrading from V20 that managed to get the lockcode changed to an alpha). To change to alpha-numeric input again hold the # key for a second or so.

If you update the firmware, you will not be able to play the dcf files in your memory card. There is no solution yet on NOKIA site or internet. So be careful.

guys i just updated, my lock code was 65000, and its not working now!! i tried 12345 i tried the remote locking code i tried 65000 atleast 5 times, got it temporarily locked too many times till now!! please help!!!!!!
If you have problems wth the unlock code, press and hold # key for a few seconds and the number pad will change to the alpha-numeric pad, then enter your code.
