what made 3650 better than 7650 besides MMC?

Hi ST@RR,

I'm done installing Handy Reversi, Remote sync and Handy Dates.

1st Test: While posting this all of above apps are running at the background (to test), no memory notification or error

Second test: Tested also to run Nokia Video Recorder together with Appman plus SeleQ and I did not receive a "memory error" that you are receiving though there are 44 apps installed.

I've also installed other apps that I found in www.epocware.com

My conclusion: Your memory error is not because of the 3rd party software and not because of the less RAM that Nokia put for 3650.

I suspect it is a firmware issue. I can't remember what firmware you got there. I have v2.50 - English phone (not flashed)

Yes it has a 200mhz cpu. But it is not only that. It also has a louder speaker, a bigger (touch)screen with handwrite recognition. 16mb of memory (12 of them are free) plus the memory stick (comes bundled with 16mb , 128mb the max you can buy) and also memory stick drive for the pc on the package. Although the collection of programs are few they are increasing every day , not to mention the apps developed on appforge mobilevb sth that only exists on 9210 of nokia's phones.

C'mon guys, you are confusing me,did you read Jyriks post, just after mine,he said that p800's CPU is 104 MHZ,same as the one on the 7650/3650.I though that i has 200 MHZ or something CPU.
Any official source that can tell us which one is right?

If p800 had the same cpu with x650 we would surely have seen quake coming for series 60 and not only for p800. Every single tech site i have visit says that the p800 cpu is 200mhz...

I do 😉

I like to read the Users opinions in CNET and Mobile pages of ReviewCentre.com

Reading the Full Review and user opinions from these places help me decide which phone to buy and what is the next phone to buy.

Actually the P800 processor is 156Mhz(been tested)
P800 156Mhz Cool 8)

I've read that it has ~200Mhz which means less than ~200Mhz .. just like 3650/7650 less than 200Mhz

Cool to know that you've tested it.. I'll be waiting for another month coz most vendors here are reducing the selling price every month 😉
For the meantime.. I'm enjoying 7650 & 3650

You can test your 7650/3650's cpu speed too. Michal over at My-Symbian made a small exe file for this purpose some time ago, I'll try to hunt down the link...

hmm about the memory stick.... u cant jus put it into a sony pc straght away cos its differnt the p800 one is smaller then normal sony ones and b4 ne1 says it aint it is..... unless u hav a converter cos we'eve tried it at work ...an electrical retailer by the way:P lol

Ok, here's the link where you can check your 7650/3650/9210/P800 cpu speed. Just copy the exe file to your phone(remember the directory) and run it from your phone's file manager.

daniatt: My firmware is also 2.50 😊 Well anyway, this is no big thingy... I'll just upgrade my firmware with the 3.07 or something when it becomes available! 😊 Thanks!

And i trust CNET! They helped me decide in buying the 3650... and I never regretted even once about it!

How fast is the P800 processor exactly?

If it is no big deal for you to see "not enough memory to ....blah...blah" then let's put the issue in peace 😉 😊
But I suggest that you send your phone for a tune-up LOL (I know ...it's not a car).. you'll never know what is behind those message. A faulty device, a defective MMC? who knows? We have 1 year warranty.. do not waste it... take advantage of it. You can demand a replacement for a faulty hardware or defective MMC anytime as long warranty is still valid.

Yeah i will 😊 It's a big thing alright but it's just so hard to trace the phone's defects! I only have 7 days replacement from the shop where i bought my phone... and the 7 days is up!!! I have 6 months repair warranty only... 😞 So, I just better wait for the software upgrade coz I cannot change the unit anymore...

Damn 7 days grace period :-?
Anyway, yeah... try the firmware upgrade.. it may help to rid your memory problem.

Yeah I will... Now, I regretted buying a phone from another store. It's hard to detect all the problems with just 7 days! It's best to buy at nokia but it's more expensive there coz of the warranty... But guess it's worth it! When i bought my 3650, I didn't have enough money to buy the one at nokia 😊 so, i'm stuck with this!

I thought I just said it...
The P800 CPU is clocked at - 156Mhz.

3650/7650 - 104Mhz.

9210 - 52Mhz.

i was 99.9% getting a 3650 but after a little visit to phones4U and having the opportunity to see the 7250 (few shops yet have them!) i was sold! i am now delighted with the phone I have (7250)... it meets all my needs.

plus, i think it looks a lot better. the only thing i'd have liked was BT but I can wait without that until I get mysel a new lappy in a year or so.... but then i'll be needing WiFi on my phone!

Well, your needs are different than ours pal. 7250 is a good phone but unfortunately it is not a symbian phone. So it's not for me...

yep, i can totally agree with you. at the end of the day, i didn't feel i required the ability to add apps as much as i thought. i'll get it in my next phone though!

the 3650 is still an excellent phone. that would still be my second choice.

same here 😊 but nice phone anyway 😊

Pic quality is horrible on 7250 😊 Friend has one and I dont like it... Ive got a 7210 and woudlnt reaplce my 3650 or 7650 with it any day... nice little phone for just well a phone 😊 shame it cant receive pics over IR though and as u say no BT...

Phones4U are great I always come out with a new phone whenver I go in there 😊

They say that the 7250 picture looks good on PC... better check it out. But I'd still go with my 3650 😊 Different phones suit different people...

All the non-symbian phones with camera built in have a 0.1 megapixels lens compared to x650/p800 and all other camera peripherals for phones (like se communicans) that have a 0.3 megapixels lens. So the max resolution is half of the vga standard (640x480) which makes the photos taken only suitable for mms...
