That depends. Some Service Centers actually back-up the phone for you first and than do the restore for you as well. If this is not the case with you, I can only say it's very strange. You should have had way more than 6Mb free after the upgrade... :-?
I called my local Service Center here in Holland (Telecom Today, Assen) again today, and they said they still did not have R2D!!!!! :-? :-?
What do you think, was the one I spoke on the phone with miss-informed or is it actually possible that they still don't have it!?!?!?

Well, I phoned another SE Service Point, still pretty close to where I live. They said that they DID have the upgrade. Brought it there today. They said it would take one workday, but since they are closed the entire week-end, I can only pick it up again on Monday :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Hey y'all, gave semicon a ring and finally their software is ok already. Im going there in a few minutes. Have one question though, does the upgrade require you to have the memstick in the phone? Will it also erace the mem on the mem stick?

I called the same service centre 3 days ago and they told me the device was broke so they couldn't give me an upgrade, maybe thats what he meant.
I had mine upgraded in Keighley in West Yorkshire a week ago. It took 2.5 hours!
My battery life appears to be quite a lot better, but it seems to run more slowly. I have installed more software, but since it's mostly not running I don't see why there should be any difference unless the processor is running more slowly to save power, they wouldn't do that to me would they?
At least I can fit the full Doom WAD files on it now.

1. the phones muich faster, more smoother running.
2. of course the camera enhancements.
3. delivery reports....but i only hope that it was ON by default. i have to put it ON every sms & plus it does not work in flip closed mode. 😞
4. if you go to control panel....general..theres one more option there "PHONE & PREFRENCES"...so now you dont have to click the contacts tab & go to prefs to change ringer settings.
5. i wish they had a profiles settings.
6. Audio in flip closed mode is excellant. i think this is the best part of the upgrade.
7. the new screensaver is bad....i like the old one better..this makes it look like the screen is dirty or something.

Just got the upgrade too!!! 😊 Just came from a restoration, had one problem, an error restoring the mail dir.. dont know why, so i just cancelled ti and everything wen ok. Surprisingly, the backup AppArc error has now dissapeared!! 😊 Have yet to do more testing 😊
One question though, how do we remove the Demo? I cant find it in uninstall 😞

For any uninstallable apps, if you cannot find it in the uninstall list, just re-install the unwanted app first, then voila, it magically appears in the uninstall app list. 😃
Works with the Demo. But when I install solitaire it doesnt work 😞 All my aps just dissappear and when I restart my phone, they all come back but solitaire still doesnt appear in the "Uninstall" aps section 😞

Well, I got my phone back, upgraded! I tried the phone for a second, checked the firmware-versions, and checked if there was an mp3-player with the flip closed. There was!
I immediately restored the phone. Checked again and�. PURE HORROR! The mp3-player was gone in flip closed mode. Everything else is still there. Improved CommuniCam (in flip closed mode as well!!), full screen video, stuff like that!
Does any-one have a solution to this BIG problem, or does anyone know what�s the cause?
One thing I noticed was that the CDA-version went back from R3A to this:

Perhaps this is the cause?

Wow, check this out. My phone was set to Dutch (after the upgrade as well BTW). I changed it to English and my mp3-player is back! Still not a real solution, since I really prefer a Dutch phone....

Well here's a new experience, I mean I experienced this before already but this time its worst. Everytime I install a game (I say games bec when I installed the demo it didnt happen) All the aps dissappear in the application section. All I do to solve it is restart my phone. But still, has anyone found the root of this problem?
Additional benefit on the new software:
Somebody sent me a text message of his new number. Naturally, his name will not appear since i haven added him to my contacts yet. Once I did, the text message immediately displayed his name 😊 Unlike before, only new messages from him will have his name and the old one's before adding the cotnact would still continue to display his number only 😊

Im sorry Muzikfreakah, I'm not too sure what the differences are, especially the differences from R2D to R2F. I know my phone is a whole heap better than before 😉 My phone used to crash all of the time (kept getting the yellow triangle thing). Now its running fine.
General impressions though is the the display seems better. Images are definitely sharper but I can't give a better description than that. The camera has Night Mode, Mute Shutter and Delay timer (do the others have that?).
Photo gallery is much better. I can select images to be deleted, etc.
Anyway ... Im sort of waffling now. All in all I my P800 is now supercharged and I'm a happy bunny 😉
@PaulyLaw: Im glad your happy! So am I too! Those changes you mentioned are already in R2d.
Although I did expereince some weird stuff last night:
1.) Signal was dancing up and down. The area I was in always has strong signal. The signal bars also changed colors from orange to blue.. do you guys know what the colors signify?
2.) The add number to contacts still goes to a new contact and there is no option to add number to an existing contact 😞
