That seems illogical. R2F is already out
Or is it just a typo?? Or perhaps the PDA part is now R2E??? Please share all versions you have (phone, BT, PDA, CDA) with us 😊

For all Perth people, there isnt a SE service centre in Perth. The place to get your phone upgraded is -

ph - 9325 1555
Now go get it!!!
Wow this is reasly something new.
I still have this:
Phone R2D
BT: R5A
Org: R2A16
CDA:R1F04
Just had my firmware updated.
Phone: CXC162002 R2F
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R5A
Organiser: CXC162001 R2B03
CDA: CDA162001/5 R4A02
Done by Next Communication in Southampton/England/UK
Just upgrade to R2F and recognized the followings:-
- You will use up some 1Mb for the Demo, Chess, Solitaire which you can't uninstall (unless using File Manager or Install & uninstall)
- The backup and restore in PC Suite will not backup any voice commands in the phone book
- The screensaver looks bad
Where is the nearest SE service centre in Central London?
[quote="EricC"]Just upgrade to R2F and recognized the followings:-

Yeah, me too. Way better than that boring SE Logo ball.. 😃
This is for Tadagast and anybody else with the following:
Phone
CXC162002 R2F
Bluetooth
CXC12529 R5A
Organiser
CXC162001 R2B03
CDA
CDA162002/1 R4A02
I have gotten my firmware upgraded to the above mentioned.
However I am still experiencing various problems such as CRAP battery life (in 2 hours it dropped 5% whilst sitting there doing nothing - yes all proggies closed & screensaver off/power save on).
I am especially annoyed with the apps not working in flip-closed mode. When I use the jog dial in flip closed mode to select one of the shortcuts such as contacts, the screen will start expanding - seemingly to open up the contacts (or whatever) application, open to approx 90% (like an opening bubble) and then hang. The contacts application (or whatever app I tried to open) will not open but if I fiddle around then the screen will go back to flip-closed or flip-open mode, depending on where I tap the screen.
Can I ask, is anyone else experiencing any strange problems like this? This is my 3rd P800 (the previous two returned due to faulty things similar to above).
I am getting pretty annoyed with this and the bad battery life!
What to do???!!!

If i don't use my phone.. Only run what's needed.. The power drops like 2% each 24 hour. So my guess is that your battery is defect or you have some app's running in background.
according to SE customer service, the nearest london SE service centres to London are:
Hayes - 0208 561 6555 or
Barnet - 0208 216 3896
and there are none in central London..... :-?
after upgrade of the firmware, Can I use myprevious backup to restore the sttings and my contacts? in case yes, is it recommended to restore from previous firmware back up.
Does the restore bring back the previous firm ware or un necessary files.
Thanx

Hi guys,
this weekend my Se contact in Singapore told me that soon we'll be able to update the system software of the P800 at home. You need the new desk stand DSS-20 for it, he couldn't explain to me why the 'old' sync stations didn't have the capability to upgrade the system software.
Upgrades will be posted at the SE website (where you can now go already to get new software and patches) and possibly there will be a ristriction that you can only update in the same language that's currently installed on your phone, which is fine as long as you are not in the grey import business.
I think this is good news, it seems like SE underestimated how much work it is for their service centers to keep their user base happy with the latest system software and they took the only wise decision!!!

That seems unlikely to me. That would mean that if you don't use it, the P800 battery would last 50 days 😮
That would mean 1200 hours standby time... :robot:

I have had the same problem, get tracker or switcher and see if you have a strange app running called "Main" or "qsAutExe.exe". More than likely you have a corrupted file, i just took mine to the service center and they upgraded my software and it went away.

Yes, I have finally taken it to the SE Repair centre after spending 30 mins on the phone with SE. I told them I don't want a P800 back until it is fully upgraded and completely tested and I get at least 200 hours battery life! So perhaps I will get onto my 4th!!!
*fingers crossed*
Upgraded yesterday my P800 to

CDA: R4A02

So we all need to buy this new stand? Dont we all have the DSS-20 already? This is great news but how true is it?

Yeah, your right. Was a bit quick there. Is went from 100 to 98 from i went to bed until i rised again.. About 7 hours. Still i think that is better then my T68I manage. But when i use the PDA is power drops like a 'stone'. Hehe, i manage to get it to 20% in just 2 hours. Just testing the phone installing(via *.sis files attached to emails) stuff surfing.

Perhaps a stupid suggestion, but did you put the HBH-60 in discoverable mode?? I made that mistake once. I completely freaked out that the headset didn't work, turned out it was my own stupidity 😊 😮ops:
i guess that must be the case, but i am away from the HBH-60 Manual right now and not remember how to put it in discoverable mode, any hints? Thanks in advance 😉

Well, don't know about the HBH-60, but on the HBH-15 (which I have), you have to hold the "power/on-off" button for 10 seconds. Then the light goes flashing red and green, and then it can be discovered by other devices...

I think this is the same for all SE BT HS. Press for 10 secs and you get the blink'n lights means your in discov mode! 😉

Did it at PHONE-CALL http://www.phonecall.fr (no, they don't serve Nokia customers only!) for Euro 15.00. Took 1 hour. Euro 15.00 with purchase receipt. 25.00 without, and free if done within 24 hour of purchase.
