I agree with Raven,old news/rumours in a nice little package 😊
And now,for something completely different.
Do you stilll remember the idea of a gaming flip? Now,with the p810/p900(if the flip is removable) when the flip does not touch the screen its even more possible.Imagine this,a flip with a couple of buttons and a joystick that could actually replace the original flip and its functionality.A five way joystick(moving the joystick to the left would be equivalent to pressing the 4 key, moving it to the right would be equivalent to pressing the 6 key,you get the analogy)or even better,a 9 way joystick(it will replace the keys,1 to 9) and couple of a buttons for the remaining keys(0, # , * etc, etc). You could actually use the whole screen and all of the phones features with ease without even touching the stylisa and gaming? It would definitely rock!!!
I'll see if i can photoshop something out.
That would be excellent! maybe a 5 way with 4 action buttons, that should be very easy to make. 😃 😃 😃
how bout a wireless Pad with joystick connect via bluetooth
this would be nice isn't it LOL
The phone definately has potential!
But do you guys agree with clubsonyericsson.com that it has a Japanese look??? I don't really think so...
It would be great if it has Series 60 in flip-closed mode, and it
truns into UIQ when the flip is opened 8)
Hehe, that would be awesome, Special! :bday:
Never gonna happen though... 😞
Well, it wouldn't exactly have to turn into a Series 60 in FC mode, but a good menu system that would allow access to most applications and allowing text entry would be good enough. Things like schedule and jotter input would improve greatly. Games should also operate in FC mode to use the keypad as a control pad.
Actually, to be frank, that was sort of what I pictured the P800 to be last year before I played with it. I was kinda disappointed when I realised there's only so much you can do in FC.
want to know frm u guys in Europe USA etc. How is the SE promotions on p800 like ads etc. I have seen none in Manila. Here p800 is as good as p900 ( most people dont know it exist). I m responsible to a gr8 extent for its promotion (Excited Onlookers et al) . One main reason is popularity of NOKIA here
I m interested inknowing frm u all as to how these stuff & SE Releases like p900 received globally. Just for my General Knowledge 😊
i agree with you The Party Boy. p800 ads can only be seen on magazines but not on tv. actually, there are many filipinos who wants to buy this smartphone but the thing is it is still expensive.
Back to the gaming flip idea.
I've attached something i photoshoped today.I know it looks ugly and and the model is too big and out of proportions but its just an idea.
There could be a lot of variations on how much keys the joystick can replace. It can be a 9,8,5 or 4 way joystick.I like the idea of a 8 and 4 way joystick.8 way will be great for diagonal jumps in emulators like GoBoy or SMSPlus.Pressing the joystick down in order to fire wouldn't be really handy so i think that leaving the 5 key as a regular non replacable by the joystick button would be best.
Well, the drawing, don't laugh at me,i'm not really good with photoshop and i just had some spare time 😊
PS:The model i worked on was taken from here: http://www.pixel.hu/xms/P810_1.jpg
New images:

The source was a user on MoDaCo forums. For reasons unknown to me he deleted his post. Thanks to langdona for providing the link.
Again having recently taken part in a discussion group hosted on behalf of SE we were shown pictures and a spec of a potential follow on for the P800. The picture was not that shown earlier, but the they did suggest much better screen quality and an upgraded camera, including video recording
is that Smart amazing fone?
It's the "Tanager" - same sh!t, different name.. :P
looks fake to me.
Huh? The Tanager or the P810?
You are one of those staunch conspiracy theory believers aren't you?! 😮
This article claims (at the bottom) that the P900 will start shipping in week 46. http://www.mobile-review.com/articles/2003/se-september-en.shtml
I have my doubts though...

the p810 looks fake to me. it is so easy to distort images now especially with adobe! 😮
Well bigdaddychris, you have just discovered a great conspiracy,allaboutsymbian,my-symbian and SE were producing pictures for your sole amusement,I'm guilty, put the cups on.BTW:Before i go to jail, can you tell us who killed Kennedy and whether the aliens in New Mexico are friendly 😮ops:
haha! oh well. but i am looking forward to that . i cant wait for the next p800 series. hope it arrives before christmas! 😃

Well the Inquirer is hinting that a P800 replacement may only be a month away.
I certenly hope its true!!I'm in the heat for a new device.I was going for a p800,but the rumours of the p810/p900 poping up in the next couple of months are just to tempting.I hope the price will be too 😃
Yep, I've just seen the details and images for the next wave of Orange releases, and this model is definitely the Sony Ericsson P900, due in at the end of October.
Unfortunately my contract with my P800 doesn't run out for a couple of months yet, so I can't get one yet - well, not without spending way too much...
Hopefully there'll be some minor delays which'll keep it out of you lots mitts 'til I can. :P
probably this is what we all been waiting for 😊
