Please Guys! How can you edit the builted profiles?

I got a part of old bugs in new version on my 6630.
1) Still no smooth zoom - I need to press up ro down key in several times to zoom in/out.
2) AGAIN! Time/FPS bug! BUT now FPS is too HIGH (maybe, it doubled?)!
3) Sound recording works, but lots of frames are missing due to incorrect time/FPS of video.
4) Still no 320x240 😞((

When beta-testers will be able to get a Symbian 8.0-version with 320x240 encoding?!

Really sorry for all those above!
All the beta version I show here are only for Symbian 7.0 cell phones.
We do have a 8.0 version, but it's in very early stage.

The good news is I think we have found the solution for 320x240 videos in 6630/6680. Please just be patient waiting for it. Gary or me will release the beta version for symbian 8.0 soon. 😉

Actually, we are doing that in another way.
We are adding plug-in API to the final version. In the final version, we will publish various plug-in to the Camcorder II from time to time.
Your suggestion might become the motivation of a new plug-in.

Please find the latest Beta version 2.01 in the attachment. In this version we added a really cool skin there. See if you like it!

About the install problem on 6600, this is a known bug on 4.09.1. The work around is to install using Pc Suite and installation will work fine.

Well, DJKOS, you can do your own skin. Phillp and I am writing a simple tutorial of how to creat it. We will publish in on Camcorder Club (which is under designing and construction by Jenny, the author of your favorite skin)

For the bugs, as you assumed, they are the feature I designed... haha!
I will try to change those bad designing.
BTW, another famous saying in our office about the bugs goes like this:
"Well, actually this is not a bug... it is your illusion..."

About the bugz: this is the third version of eti2 but it was the most unstabile
for me 😞 (nokia 6600 -v.5.27.0)

leokang, I discovered, that time/FPS bug (in last version) is present only on "Editing" profile. Other profiles works fine.

Working on 6600 4.09.1 and on 6620 all firmware. Installed to memory card.

Thanx my friend it was a really good idea.

in case of 640x480 quality (like one of forum users suggested) maybe shoul look into photoacute (program that makes few photos of one not-moving thing and fixes them into one photo in better resolution - 1280x960 on 6600, and if object and camera is really not moving, it is really great!) program code?:P i takes four 640x480 pictures in less than 2 seconds, co framerate would be still better than 2 fps (i guess acceptable for some users in this resolution). btw i have 6600. it may sound stupid, but nothing venture, nothing gain...

I've downloaded file eti-camcorder2_beta_for_6630mmc.sis and as I understand it's a special release for Nokia 6630

I've installed it on my MMC and launched. Menu was on Chinese, so I changed skin to default.

Next I select to save video on MMC and profile PC

Than I recorded a video.

When I watched, it played very fast. Later I found out that this video was taken with fps~30. Can I some how put a limit to 24fps?

Also I notice that resolution is 160x120 and bitrate is over 500kbps, may be there is a point to make resolution higher? Something about 320x240? I think that 200Mhz Nokia 6630 processor will make it w/o any problems...

well there is no need to decrease the fps from 30 to 25 i think with 6630 version commin shorly they should make full use of the power of 6630 220 mhz . go for maximum fps and increase the resoultion as much as they can. cause i have seen the quality using 6630 in editing mode it rocks baby. only videos runs very fast. but i think they should go with full flow and release a 6630 verison and make full use of the power 6630 has in it........... just waiting for 6630 verison i hope it comes out soon now

1. Audio capture - for some strange reason, the audio capture API on 6630 is broken (works correctly on previous OS versions). It insists on returning sound buffers at very small intervals (20ms to be exact). This causes a problem but as u may already know, for fast video compression we are hogging as much computer resources as possible, and given that Symbian is not a really multi-thread friendly OS this means the audio never has chance to squeeze into the compression loop. Very stupid bug I'd say... to get it to work I have to modify the architecture in quite substantial way.

2. 320x240 mode missing - believe it or not, the CODEC used by Camcorder2 is so fast it in fact can compress 320x240 pics at nearly 7FPS in memory -- compared to that of 1-2FPS by Nokia's built-in one. Problem is, there is no mode that supports this capture size. The camera either takes big 640x480 at very slow FPS (and using large portion of the system resource), or 176x144 frames at 10FPS maximum (so don't believe in Philips' claim of 15FPS... simply not possible). I figured out a way to grab 320x240 frames from the viewfinder, but upon closer examination I believe it is in fact a stretched version of the same 176x144 frame. The stretching is probably performed via a bi-linear interpolation so quality is not bad but a bit fuzzy... Therefore, the only way to get REAL 320x240 is to down-scale it from 640x480 -- very slow. I believe the problem is only related to 6630. The new ones such as N90 (is that the name?) should be able to capture 352x288 directly.

Conclusion is that it is quite difficult to do this 6630 version, but the up side of this is that I'm almost done with it. Stay tuned my friends.

i just can wait for the application to come out i can just imagine what the videos will look like with REAL 320x240 capture mode on my 6630 with excellent fps. man i really dont care about the audio, i think everyone needs the best video quality. just make sure u dont compromize with the fps make is high as u can.. diswidth = 160
disheight = 120

to

diswidth = 320
disheight = 240

Next I saved file and launched program. When I start recording it record video very slow, but in the result I have 746kb video with 320x240 resulution 😊

It runs SO FAST so you have to slowly move forward it...

I have tried that too... but, it's only resized 160x120!! I can't believe that TRUE 320x240 is impossible! Very sad... 😞((( I hope, you will find the way to get 320x240 pics fast! Good luck!

You can use SeleQ or simply copy this file on comp, edit and than put it back

:icon14: here is a small way to make pc profile work do change width and height 320? 240 but be sure to save the original file , ok after saving replace with the original file then restatr mobile i am sure it wont work then again replace the original file with the one u modified then restart the mobile camcorder in pc profile will record videos at a bit less speed giving bit of proper audio but still zooming problems and no 320/240 mode vidoes but u think they will soon sought out that problem in 6630 version . dont try this in editing mode wont work. i am sure with final version for 6630 comming out will see the videos recorded in 320/240 with much more clearity.. pls release is soon buddy...i am dying to see 30 fps 320/240 vidoes on my 6630 :icon14:

I have an idea! I you can't get 320x240 pics fast, you can use that slow-generated 320x240 pics only as key-frames! Other frames can be resized to 320x240 from 160x120. I think, quality will be good.

i am logging on 3 times a week to see that there is a verison out for 6630 but its really sad for me i hope there is an update soon that when can we see a 6630 version red :bawling: :banghead:
