Hi

I bought my N95 back in July and my WLAN WIZARD worked perfectly until yesterday. I did nothing different, didnt drop it or change any settings, but for some reason my WLAN WIZARD has stopped working.

When i click on it the screen comes up and it has my named network, i check the details and the signal is strong and everything looks as it should, so when i go to start browsing, the screen refreshes and just stays on the WLAN Wizard screen, basicly not letting me browse.
I dont get any error codes or messages.

Does anyone know whats going on, and how i can fix it??

many thanx in advance

This may seem like a really weird question, but I would like to know if it is somehow possible to use a Laptop to surf the internet, but by connecting to my mobile phone Network's service via my mobile phone?

Just like you can surf the web on your phone by connecting to your home Broadband service (WLAN/WI-FI). Is it possible the other way around?

If it is....HOW???

I have a data bundle on my O2 UK account for e-mail and internet usage, hence why I would like to know if I can connect to the internet on my Laptop and surf the internet using the data package on my mobile phone acct.

I don't have the perfect answer to be honest but normally having the old Firmware did cause a few issues for a fair few users.

I would say to key in *#0000# and check the Firmware you have...if it is something like V.11 then I would say to update via Nokia website. This may help the situation.....however, I have V.12 and have had no issue nor heard any. Nkiw have a NEW Firmware out V.20 which (judging by some posts) is not welcomed but then by others it is.....
BAsically, V.12 is a gem and solved a few issues with mine....V.20....not sure and it is entirely up to you.
Read a few comments about it to help make your decision.

Hello guys and gals,
I have a little question for you.!

Last night I transferred 3gb of songs to my N95 and it all went well..
I pressed the 'Refresh' button and the music player found all the songs on the MMS. All good...and worked..
Same this morning...all fine..

Just now when I try to listening the music the music player can only find 13songs instead of the 600 I had before..

So I pressed the 'refresh' option but no luck...
I checked the MMS under tools and file manager and the songs are there..
and if I press them individually they work fine and play starts...

It only seems the music player can not find the songs and do not list them...!!

Any idea why that is..?

Thx for helping me out

TM

Hello,

Maybe someone can help me. I have tomtom on my mobile divice (N95) and its works perfect in normal mode. I would like to navigate in landscape mode but after I started the program and i swich the slider for the landscape mode, the program doesnt work properly anymore.
'
Maybe the is a program for the N95 which can say that you always stay in landscape mode, while running that program.
Thank you

I have just debranded my N95 and there are a few items on my menus I want rid of and also I was to get rid of the nokia maps as I have tomtom navigator.

How do I delete these?

Thanks

You cant delete Maps, because its part of ROM software. Just install Tomtom, and both can be on N95 without any problem.

you need to connect the phone to the laptop using the USB cable. then use the built in modem software. i have never tried this but it should work.

Hi Rafe here I go:

) I have 3 numbers in the same contact name, all numbers a different icon (cell, home, work). Call to the 3 numbers, and when open the las dialed, all three numbers has same icon (cell), so I don't know where did I call... any chance it shows the proper icon?

2) When searching for a contact in the directory, in all phoned I had, if I press F it goes to the first name starting wiht F, but in my Nokia it brings all names that has an F ?, so it's really hard to rech the contact... how can I do this?

3) when writing an SMS or Email using predictive text, theres no word suggestion, or options or prediction as word most used... Is there way to have this?

4) when receiving an SMS, is there a way to preview or know the sender before opening it?
Thanks
Juan

I was wondering if you can provide me a solution for the Application closed:MMMmenu bug, or does updating the firmware solve the problem?I am really in need of the answer because it depends on completing a deal to buy the phone.thank you.

Since it has bluetooth and if u have a laptop with bluetooth you should be able connect wirelessly...i do that with Samsung 8525.
Please let me know if its not the same with N95.

Hi guys, I'm new here.
Just got the N95 8gb and am trying to load up tomtom v6.
I did it successfully on a n95 (first version), but i cannot transfer files via mass storage device.
It keeps on saying that it is in use by another application.

So this is what i'm asking.

1) Dont ask for cracks.

2) How do I access mass storage mode on the phone. I have tried depressing the menu button to see what apps are open and then close them but it still wont work.

3) Can the pre installed Nokia maps and navigation be used with an external bluetooth gps unit to avoid connection charges?

thanks guys!!!!!😊

Turn the phone off and back on again, and then try mass storage. Alternatively, you could just connect it as PC Suite and then use File Manager in the Nokia PC Suite to browse and transfer files. If you had a classic N95, I would've said "take the card out and put it in a reader instead".

jimiswan29 wrote:3) Can the pre installed Nokia maps and navigation be used with an external bluetooth gps unit to avoid connection charges?

You're not charged for using the built-in GPS, so long as you use the Nokia Map Loader software on your PC to transfer the maps to the phone first. The only time you may incur charges is if you're using Assisted-GPS, which usually uses very little of your GPRS connection. Mine's only ever downloaded about 600bytes at a time at most, not even a kilobyte.

Thank you for your generous help with the phone.

I got confuse about the GPS system.
I am planning to buy N95-3 and I am wondering that if I get GPS tracking direction free or not. I am not worrying about voice navigation system.

Also, When I put the my GSM provider SIM card in the phone, Do I have to configured for data plan or It will start working without setup Data Plan eg Nokia E61.

Thank You

If you don't know what's running, go through every menu folder looking for Icons with a blue "crescent moon" shape to the top right of the icon. This indicates one or more apps is running inside this folder. You will also see the same blue shape next to the icon of any running apps if you navigate into the folders themselves.

Some apps: - Virus Scanner, Task-Manager, Auto-Profile, etc., start automatically at handset boot-up time, and if they run in Memory Card address space (I know the 8Gb doesnt have a memory card, but you get the general idea) then Mass Storage mode cannot be activated.

For any auto-running apps, first try to disable their auto-run option, and reboot the handset. If this still doesn't help, you may have to temporarily uninstall the offending auto-run app(s) so that you can enable Mass Storage mode, install TT6, then re-install your apps previously deleted.

Hope this helps.

I am having problems installing TomTom on my N95-8, this software worked perfectly on my N80 as soon as i put the memory card back in the phone it installed and worked perfectly, with N95-8 it does nothing, i transfered all the files onto the internal memory card but its does not automaticly install, i tried using file manager where i can c the files but comes up with the error "unable to open. file type not supported" any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hello, I have just replaced my n80 with a n95 and would like to transfer my tomtom 6. Problem is I only have a card reader for my micro sd card and not the mini sd in my n80. How do I complete a transfer to the micro sd?🙄

jimiswan29 wrote:Thanks Dez.

The only thing that appears to be activated is Standby. how do you turn that off?

Hi,

Perhaps you misunderstood me (or more likely I was not clear enough).

When you press the Menu button, don't hold the button down until the running applications menu is displayed.
Instead, only press the menu button for a fraction of a second, which actually enters the folders menu.

You should see the blue crescent moon logo on at least one icon on this menu.
(on my handset the Tools menu has the blue 'running' indicator, and if I enter the tools menu, I see a blue 'running' indicator next to the Utilities sub-folder.
If I enter the utilities folder, I then see 2 app icons containing the blue 'running' indicator - the apps were Taskman and AutoProfiles in my case)

If you cannot find any apps running then I am afraid you would probably have to format the 8Gb memory space, which of course would wipe all previously installed multimedia or apps.
However if this is the only way to get TT6 installed it may be worth the hassle?

Hope this helps. 😉

Hello, I have a question.

Is there a reason why everytime my phone is switched off (manually/dead battery/frozen etc) I have to re-enter the date and time?

Yes the phone will need to keep the RTC powered in order to work out how much time has elapsed since it was last powered.

Wehnt he phone has the main battery inserted it uses this. Theres a small backup battery that keeps the settings for so long when the battery is removed but once the battery is removed. PCS have a larger one that can keep the clock in sync for a length period but in most phones its only a small capacitor designed to last a short period. If yours is doing it with ever flat/removal and crash its possible the backup battery is faulty or not working.

Its a bit like saying "Why do I need to set the time on my watch everytime I remove the battery" 😉

Got a iGo ultra slim bluetooth keyboard. Tried to download the N73 driver as directed by everyone - doing it on the N95, it won't recognise the address is correct. doing it on the PC, it downloads fine, but installing it on the N(5, I'm told the file is corrupt.

Everyone seems to be able to do this. I can't. Any ideas?
