Are N95 product codes usable with the N95-3 to get firmware with different language support? I think the only real difference between the two is the frequency for WCDMA for 3G connectivity, which I would think would not at all be related to firmware.

My internet is not so stable, it gets disconnected quite often, and my EDGE is also not so good to be relied upon.
Please help me with a suggestion about that should I update the firmware of my N95? Looking at the firmware details, tell me is there any update available, and if I do update my N95 then what advantages would I gain in comarison to the version which I presently have on my N95.
And lastly please tell me what would happen to my phone if the update process is disturbed half way due to internet/EDGE disconnection problem?
I am in a fix whether to update my N95 or not.

Temme this..whenever i install a theme,the new theme does not create it's own log in the application manager!..i just cannot remove it then from the phone..how do i avoid this problem???and of course there is always the expired certificate problem for which i have to change the date again and again..+if i dont like the theme and it's not there in the application manager..i cannot remove it beacuse like the n70 or the other older symbian phones you cannot 'delete' a theme..the app manager is the only way out.
please answer..i need to install some good themes on my phone...

Transfer the via Nokia Music Manager,once transfered go to Music player,Search for Music,play the song,options,Set as ringtone!

At first hand, restore the factory defaults. If it doesn't work, then you may have to reformat your phone. The code which I used in most of the symbian phone is *#7370# and may be it works for N95 as well. But before formatting your phone, make a backup of it on memory card or PC.
I want to convert N95 videos to MPG format so that I can play them on any VCD player. Can anybody tell me how to do it and where can I get teh software from? Nokia N95 software CD has nothing of the sort.
And can I convert N95 videos to DVD format for playing them on a DVD?

I don't think you need 720kbs, you should be fine with about half that.
Reformat ? so it would install all the default software etc. on my phone ?
as long as I take a full backup, I should be able to get the defaults by reformatting, right ? I already tried the factory defaults, does not work.

1) how can i put traditional chinese in the N95 8GB because the phone didnt come with it installed
2) and the coder reader. what does that exactly work? u just take a pic of that code and the phone will read it?

Hi, I bought my N95 8gb after reading your excelleny revue. No regrets whatsoever but I cannot get it to connect to my laptop to use as a modem. This facility was one reason why I chose it. I occasionaly have to access the internet in a place where I get an excellent signal but have no other way of connecting to the internet. Presently I use a data card but thought the N95 would do this, saving me �28 a month.
I have tried everything. Manuals, online help lines. Spoke to vodafone who advised speaking to Nokia. Spoke to Nokia who advised to uninstall and reinstall without firewall - made no difference. Laptop and phone are connected fine. I click on connect to the internet within Nokia PC suite. Connection manager goes through its routine but then dialogue box says 'failed to establish a network connection' Settings seem to be OK. Modem is visible within system device manager.
I could do with some help please.
Did you set-up the dial strings etc. in the 'Connect to the Internet' application ?
You can either select a pre-configured setting or create your own. Try a custom setup with the correct parameters if the defaults does not work.
Your phone company should be able to give you the right settings.
I use 3 and the defaults for 3 Denmark work fine.
Also, go to the controlpanel, open the modem app and test your modem. If you do not get a response, there is a problem with the modem connection.
You may want to start out with an USB cable connection to rule out Bluetooth problems (like trying to connect to the wrong phone, if you have several entries 😊

Just had a look and v20 isn't available for 3 uk yet i know i can change the pc to a voda one and do the update that way
But will i loss all my 3 settings? i guess it will just update them with the voda settings along with v20
if it dose replace my 3 settings with voda settings how can i get all the 3 settings back?

I want to update my N95 firmware but at the same am frightened that if my internet disconnects during update process, then what would happen. Is there any risk for my N95 if such thing happens. If the update is not complete and my internet didconnects, then would my N95 work properly?
From my knowledge, the update won't start as long the complete file isn't downloaded.
So I think, only when u downloaded the complete 122MB, it starts the flashing.

Change the date back a year, then install, then change the date to correct one again

One more thing can you end a call using the slide as I have to keep using the red button to end calls the slide only answers calls

I only have a classic N95 so can't say for sure about the 8GB but on this model you can't end calls with the slider. It is a feature I was hoping would be in the newest firmware but sadly not. I can see the benefit of closing the slider so you can carry on the call with it closed up but it'd be nice to just have an option somewhere to enable or disable that feature

I dread to think how many friendships it has damaged not ending a call on the slider. My previous phone (N91) did so for a few weeks with the N95 I was closing it and forgetting to end the call, fortunately I never said anything incriminating before I realised!
Is there a way to make you message alert tone (sms) repeat please or software that can do it so it will play my tone when i get a txt message every few minutes or what ever i set?
And what is the correct film format for the best quality to go for on my n95 8gb is it mp4 please?

Have a n95 Nokia just wondering if you can help me using pc suite downloaded all my calandar appointments into phone once that had been done checked that all appointments where there and that it was working okay did a system recovery on my laptop which had all my appointments in outlook once I did system recovery and reinstalled outlook and pc suite went to upload appointments back into outlook on laptop and phone keeps coming up memory full close down some applications and try again have tried some software to recover file, the calendar file is still in the phone memory but even when you back up phone memory to memory card it won't copy across contacts, calendar etc and when you try to access calendar in menu there are no numbers in the boxes just the days of the week and month obviously corruption in appointments or phone software prefer the later can you suggest what can be done to recover appointments or what software if any to restore my calendar back to outlook from my phone.
i'm new. i was wondering if anyone has flashed their N95 8gb to the latest firmware (from 10.0.021 to new 11.0.026).
after i flashed it, i cannot get the vibrate to work. i'ved tried different profiles and also turning it on and then off. seems like the firmware messed up on the vibration alerts.
