Just want to ask how do I adjust the 320 x 240 screen? Coz when i transfer it to my P800 there is an error that says " Video dimension too large" but the audio plays fine. whats the setting for the resolution and how do you change it. I have a trial version BTW

120*160

but it seems no one wants to help us to change the resolution
i have asked everywhere but no one answers.... i dont know how you people managed to make all those movies and video clips if you dont know how to change the resolution!

in mpegable x4 there is a function for downsampling x1, x2, x4... thats what i use!

there is an ftp at ftp://p800mp4.no-ip.com with about 600mb's of movies for your p800

Same with me. But I get some delay with the sound.... 😞 That's too bad....

Just out of interest, does anyone know which codec I should be using in VirtualDub? I can't seem to be able to write MP4 files...

Also, if you don't specify a framerate cap of 15 - what happens when you play the movie on a P800? Does it simply handle it ok (dropping frames accordingly) or does it refuse to play at all?

Ignore the above.. using mpegable now 😃

I just created my first P800 movie.. only one problem - no P800 to play it on yet!

Could someone give it a try and let me know if it works, that way I can get my music video collection encoded in readiness for the phone arriving :P

And another...

(in her best video ever 😮 😃 :P)

could you post it here or could you please send it to me via email? [email protected]

thanks
Its 7MB...
I cant send it ! 😃
Ask your SE dealer !
They MUST HAVE IT !
It's not on my multimedia CD that came with the P800, and the N. American SE office doesn't know of such a program.

I have managed to convert video into mp4 using virtualdub and mpeg4ip and the files play well on various mp4 players on the PC. But I have yet to get one to play on the P800. mp4 files converted using mpegable play oK.

What are the right settings for virtualdub and mpeg4ip for the P800?

Many thanks.
u can use virtual dub to convert ur movie to any dimentions u want!!
just go to video>filters>add then select resize and u'll see!!
good luck 8)
Can someone please check to see whether the two videos I created (links above) work?

And whether or not the sound stays synced properly...

Thanks 8)

I'm sorry to say Britney doesn't work.... The videoclip I mean...

After my P800 says "Buffering" a while, it says as it's ready for play says: Error. Unable to play clip.

I managed to make a clip myself, but it went out of audio-sync....

Damn.

Oh well I guess I'll have to wait until I get mine before I can properly test it.

Thanks Joker 😊

Any time... - If you want to tray once more - do so! I can test... 😊

Rehi - I took your movie through MPEGABLEX4live and reduced it to x2, and then it ran perfectly...... - though it's to small to realy say if I got some "lip-sync" trouble.....

Ooh..

So I must have the dimensions wrong. Weird.

The P800 White Paper says...

It says 192x144 is a supported resolution, but I'm guessing its not. Ah well, will have to experiment 😊

Thanks for the feedback.

Ohh try this ones...

ftp://p800mp4.np-ip.com
http://sep800.mine.nu

It workes for me.

Hmmm, maybe its because I put the sound bitrate above 64kbps.

Guest - is that the "ForTheBirds" demo movie? Is that 192x144 then?

😃

Just created a new MP4 file using WM9 Encoder. Hopefully it'll work...

Can someone test it for me please 😃

Test 1 - 192 x 144, high quality/low framerate
http://www.superficial.net/ericksermonredman.mp4 (3.52Mb)

Test 2 - 192 x 144, medium quality/high framerate
http://www.superficial.net/erickredman2.mp4 (3.5Mb)

has anyone tried using Apple Quicktime 6 Pro? I encoded according to the white book but still i get an error "unable to play clip" f**k!
No, tested both of them - get an error "unable to play clip".
Damn and blast!

Thanks anyway.

Using Quicktime 6.1 Pro on a Mac, I can encode and play mp4 clips using this procedure :

1. Open the movie clip in QT Pro
2. Go to "File"> "Export"
3. Choose "Movie to MPEG-4"
4. Click on the "Option" button
5. On the "MPEG-4 Settings" window click on the "General" tab and choose :
- Video Track : Basic
- Size : 160x120
- Audio Track : Movie
6. Click on the "Video" tab and choose :
- Frames per second : 15
- Key frame every : 24 frames
7. Click on the "Audio" tab and choose :
- Channels : Mono
- Output Sample Rate : 44.100 kHz
- Encoding Quality : Medium
8. Click on the :Streaming" tab and choose :
- Hinting Type : None
- Maximum packet size : 1450 bytes
- Maximum packet duration : 100 ms
9. Click on the "Compatibility" tab and choose :
- "IMSA" as compatibility type
- "Any"
10. Click "OK" and "Save".

Hope these help.

jmlv2,

1) There was an extra settings "data rate", what should be the value?
2) Under "Audio", no field for "Output sample rate" and No encoding quality.
3) Under "Streaming", can't change the maximum packet size n duration.
