Yes. Also if you read the read me from the flash file it says you have to have the newer pheonix installed. My phone is a lot smother now as well.
New Firmware v4 available
does anybody have a link to the new pheonix ?

Cool cheers 😊
so following the guide in reaper will allow all the features to be installed (those ones that people are saying arent installed) and also the phone is smoother?
Thanks
i followed the instructions but just before the flashing it gave me a warning about a 'prommer' or something but i carried on anyway, did anybody else get this too?

from googling "nokia n80 prommer" i get the impression this is something to do with the dongle? Either that or something linking to iemi numbers.
general consesus : (sh!t yourself) press ok and it will still flash 😊
I havn't done this though, I'm thinking maybe do it tomorrow
well i carried on, and near the end i got the windows new hardware sound and a popup for new driver but the hardware was 'unknown' so it couldnt find a driver, i pressed cancel and it came back a few times and the 'flashing failed' thought my phone was killed, power button wouldnt do anything and it waqs trapped in 'test mode' so i removed the battery pressed the power button and ...... it worked ok 😃 PHEW!!

You ain't filling me with confidence here lol.
I'm gonna retry flashing using the BB5 Reaper route.. I'm at the "Download huge files stage" at the moment..
just done my n80 aswel, am happy as fook! lol:icon14:
Just upgraded my phone using the software provided with bb5reaper and worked great.
Adobe PDF is in the menu and works fine,
I have a link to F-Secure av (Though haven't so far been able to remove it, though i haven't really tried)
And quick office seems to be installed, but for some reason i can't start it, it just restarts my phone 😞
Otherwise it went without hitches.

quickoffice works fine here. opened up excel spreadsheet, altho i had trouble with a word document, could be cuz it was made with word 2007, i dont know, pdf files worked great too.
Well all done (again)...
And still no Adobe / AntiVirus. But the firmware's definitely taken and the phone is noticeably smoother. I'm not worried about either missing application (I'd only wind up uninstalling them anyway lol).
Time to get some kip...
just done flashing it, and it's been good so far, but having a bit of trouble with the time. everytime i restart the phone, i always gotta set up the time again. never had this trouble before flashing. anyone else having this problem? and btw, i used the .v08 file and the date is 26-07-2006 instead of 17-08-2006 like most of u guys, is this normal? version is 4.0623.0.41 like it should be though....
hi members any changes in the camera i mean better photos or video
Hi guys,
Is that BB5 reaper program all i need apart from the firmware to upgrade my phone or do i still need to install all the files from dogtoe and use this as an upgrade?
Cheers

If you just follow the "Install Phoenix" guide in bb5 reaper it will allow you to download all the programs you need, it might even be worth uninstalling any existing installation from dogtoe, as from what i have heard the bb5reaper version is newer, and less of a hassel to install

Taz .. Did you install with the reaper guide?
I think I might upgrade if the phone is noticably smoother but is it worth doing it with reaper or just use the version i got already (which flashed my N70) .. i dont fancy downloading all those files.
thanks laurie

I used the dogtoe guide first time out, then reflashed with the reaper guide.
Got the right firrmware version but an earlier date than some (using the firmware from the dogtoe link)
v4.0623.0.41
26.07.2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 (01)
I can't say I've noticed any real differences between flashing with the reaper guide / the dogtoe walk through. It was late when I did the second flash and it's early(ish) now so I may be missing the obvious. With this firmware the menu does seem more responsive though. The reaper flash seemed to remove all my calendar appointments (but not tasks) - I didn't check other data / apps after either flash, just restored from memory card straight after the flash finished and I'd disconnected the phone.
I'm still missing Adobe and Antivirus of course, but maybe my data restore from memory card after flashing wiped them out :con? I didn't choose a product code when flashing which may have something to do with the missing apps? I got a warning "Can't change product code" but the flash overall was pretty painless.

No probs m8.
Hey all,
I got mine flashed at the Nokia Service Centre. Went into App. Manager and tried to reinstall mLock. It failed and then when I tried to open App. Maanger again, it wouldn't...... just hung for a bit and then went back to the menu every time.
So, I did a hard reset/format and that fixed it, but it also deleted all of the install files!
I managed to find QuickOffice and Antivirus on the Nokia website, so that was fine...... but I don't have the pdf reader, the search tool, or anything else :frown:
Is anyone able to find the install files for any of those apps? Will re-flashing it get them back? Can I flash with the standard USB cable that comes with the phone?
Cheers.
Morning,
Any chance someone could put bb5reaper onto a faster host to download?
I am timing out from the official site of 4shared.com (10mb Telewest link).

To get the antivirus link (which i deleted straight away from app manger) adobe etc, you should flash using the reaper guide and chose a product code.
I chose the Euro 1 Pearl Black, it then selects automatically 3 files for the flashing, if you do it manually you don't get the extra software.
To be honest though all of the software is available from Nokia anyway, and the version of Mobile Search that installs is out of date, there is a later version avialable

I would use the Reaper guide, it uses the correct version of the flashing software as stated in the flash guide for the firmware, also once installed it is installed, you don't have to reinstall everytime you reboot your computer
before i flash the n80, do i need to uninstall nokia pc suite?

Ignore, i've got it now going to have a go flashing it after dinner.
