yah! 😊
2 questions regarding N80i edition. If I do a reset, ie *#7370# will that just reset my settings and not the firmware, and when ive tried to reset my phone it asks for a 'lock code'. Ive rung O2 and the codes they have given me dont work.
I think I made a boo boo when upgrading and want to go back to old firmware. I know some of you have said it cant be done but maybe if i send it off to O2/Nokia they might be able to. :frown:

The lock code may be either for your sim or your MMC card, my MMC is 1234 (its the standard code I think, but dont know what the code for your sim is, maybe try taking out your MMC and trying a friends sim to see if that works first.
If it is the sim you could always get a replacement sim instead.
You cant go back to the old firmware yourself, you would have to send it away, and then I still dont know if its possible, but I guess it should be.

what kind of problems are you having anyway, that would make you want to downgrade?? I see you have said it feels more sluggish. Anything else??
You can re-flash, using the correct Euro 1 code.
Thanks for the input chaps.
Im getting errors when I try to access memory card (and the phone wont give me them now I want them 😊 ). Says that it is being used by another application when I try the mass storage mode, even though i have deleted everything that I installed.
Will try re flashing to see if it cures. Watch this space 😊
Just to double check......
Before I flashed I had the latest generic firmware running on O2 UK. Out of these codes what one do I use?
0538301 EURO 1 Patina Bronze Internet Edition
0539363 EURO 1 Pearl Black Internet Edition
I used 0539363 to go to N80ie, do I use it again or a different one?
I know im a nightmare but I dont wanna kill my lovely N80 😊

It may not be your phone, but your mem card,
sometimes remnants of apps are left behind also, I had to re-format my mem card when I upgraded and then re-install everything, might be worth a go ..

I think most people have used the pearl black code..
yeah, I used the black pearl one... mainly cause i had never heard of or seen patina!?!? 😉
As Cash says, look at your MMC probably more than your phone.
You can format it in the phone or in a card reader and make it a fresh card,.
Hey guys,
I read somewhere there is a WLAN wizard on the N80ie. Does anyone know in what section it is? I can't seem to find it.

you may have to download it, goto internet folder > downloads and it should be there,
WLAN wizard on the bottom of the site.
Excellent 😊 Thanks for that.
on the IE version if you have active desktop on its on the main part of the screen too... under appointments
😎

sometimes its not always there though, I had to go to downloads in the internet folder and install it...then it appears on the standby screen
Yeah i installed through the Internet/Download folder and it put it in the My Own folder. Also another quick question. Do you guys know which Euro code would have the Greek language in it? Or would it be better to install the Greece/Cyprus pack if it had English in it also.

I am pretty sure all the euro packs have English as standard
Ok cool. Well i currently have Euro 1 installed on my phone. Would there be a problem if i re-flashed to another Euro code and seeing if it has the language i am after?

I know people have re-flashed, but I never did yet ?....so couldnt say from first hand experience
ahhh, I thought the wlan note was their automatically... it was when I flashed... although it did dissappear too and made me need to restart. 😡
Ive reflashed my phone and it seems ok, with no errors and ive formated the memory card which it didnt let me do before.
Thanks guys for your help 😊
Just while we're talking about the WLAN wizard (kinda) - does anybody find it disappears from active standby for a bit, then reappears later? Sometimes it will go missing for days on mine! Any idea why? Is it because I set WLAN scanning to never (the natural choice)

as said above, mine did that when I first flashed...
I then restarted it and it sorted it.
I restart my phone now more often that before... and things run smoother. If you dont... try that. 😊

Yeah I restart every day twice -I get no 3G at home so I switch to GSM only and switch to 3G when I get to work (an attempt to save battery) but the WLAN wizard still would go AWOL. I fixed it though. I uninstalled WLAN wizard!!
When you restart do you noticed the RAM jump up to about 18/19mb then drop progressively to about 14mb?
Hmmm, interesting point.
So, you uninstalled wlan wizard, does that remove it from the active desktop too??
Or are they 2 seperate processes?
Yep it removes it from the desktop. Interestingly, when I flashed I didn't automatically get it, I still went to Download! to intall it.
I used to have it back in my N80 days but it wouldn't show on the active desktop, it was still compatible as an app.
I've just upgraded my N80 via NSS and NSU using EURO 1 but I can't verify it's actually done the upgrade to N80IE.
The question is, how can I check?
I've entered *#0000# and the following appeared:
V 4.0632.0.38
13-10-2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 (06)
Thanks in anticipation.
