my firmware is v4.0623.0.42 20-09-2006 RM-92 NOKIA N80 (49.01)

I have changed the product code using NSS

any ideas? cheers

I used ----0538301---- Euro1 code. I am in the UK. Double check NSS to see if you have changed the product code.

Also i had a moment of freaking out as my phone got disconnected by pc suite at the start of the process while flashing! My guess is its normal to do that? As it flashed whiled disconnected taking 3-5 minutes.

Hi Guys

Many thanks for this info.

I have a UK Orange branded N80 - I used NSS to change the product code, and then NSU to upgrade. I now have this

Firmware version
V4.0632.0.38
13-10-2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 (06)

I used the code 0544109 on NSS.

How can I change lines - previously (on a N80) I pressed # but that now gives me the silent profile.

If I go into Settings > Call - I dont see an option for line 2.

Line 2 is important for me, so can anyone let me know how I can re-enable it.

Many thanks

I just checked the link and it works fine 😊...maybe there was a problem with the server when you tried.

No, unfortunately not, AFAIK. Also, be aware that some of the Asia region product codes that do have Chinese text support might not provide the Chinese input method you're used to.

BTW, I'm not sure if Nokia is providing the N80ie APAC firmware thru NSU yet, so that could be the problem.

I think line 2 is only available with the orange firmware, maybe some else can confirm this.

I have now upgraded also using NSS and NSU using the 0539363 EURO 1 Pearl Black Internet Edition code and its worked fine. (I have a stainless steel model)

Infact, its better than cave diving or swimming with sharks updating your N80... especially if youve already bricked one! The Xp ding dong makes your heart drop the first time you hear it and you have some heart pounding seconds till you hear it pick up again with a refreshing dong ding

Other things to note whilst my upgrade was in progress was the test mode and initial mode displays on the screen about 70% of the way thru the install. Its nice to see things on a screen when you have a fear it may be dead! 😉

If the update fails for whatever reason, and the phone appears to be bricked try the updater again - last night mine stopped at about 70%. After much shrieking and after I changed my pants, I ran the updater again and it still recognised my N80, despite there being no sign of life from the phone itself. The second time around it installed properly.

Still, the suspense is terrible as that bar fills up!

Hi, i was in this thread few days and was trying to download phoenix a while ago.

However given message as,

"This file has been deleted.
Reason: THIS FILE IS FORBIDDEN TO BE SHARED! Complaints received."

Could we have any other source that able to get it again?

Thx CASH and other experts, look forward to ur favourable reply soon.

If somebody else can upload it somewhere and give me the link I will put the new link up, it has been deleted twice now from my rapidshare account and I don't want to risk a third time because they could suspend my account.

Thx CASH, and sorry that we trouble u that much since this thread begun.

Well, may any invisible hand there to put it somewhere in this virtual world :icon14:

Hope would be able to have a lively 80i soon. Gain thx 😊

Is there any reason why someone needs to use pheonix when they could just use NSS and NSU...

surely its the safest of the 2???

can flash the ie FW without phoenix too?
I'm just following the guide and trying to minimize the risk that will rock the n80.

So, if only by nss and nsu... Then what will be the process?
mind to share the process guidance? Thx ya! :con?

yeah it is possible to upgrade from N80 to N80IE with NSU and NSS... read the red text Cash has written on page one of this thread 😊

Try the NSS NSU method first .....its the simplest and safest....I think the phoenix method now is just for those who cant upgrade via NSU or those who brick their phones ..

If I wanted to change my N80 to an IE version is it the EURO 1 IE product code I have to give it for the UK using NSS?

Cash wrote:IMPORTANT CHANGES

It is now possible to upgrade the N80 to N80ie with the Nokia software updater (NSU), you may have to change your product code with NSS hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/5911866/nss10383.rar, EURO 3 code has been tried and works 😊

If the above works then you don't need to do anything else, the guide will remain for others that are unable to upgrade with the above method.

Works with 0542816 GREECE, CYPRUS Pearl Black Internet Edition as well :icon14: 😎

I'm a newbie to your forum, so let me start by saying that it feels realy great to be able to post my comments, as i have been an advid reader of your blogs.

Anyways guys, i also have tried upgrading my Nokia n80 to the N80i by using Europe code Patina via Nss, then i used NSU. In 30 Min i had the new firmware version v4.0632.0.38 - 13-10-2006 - RM-92 Nokia n80 (01).

Thanks very much guys for your helpful guide lines.

PS. Can any one post a step by step guide to setting up and using the VOIP feature??

Thanks again
the11thapostle

What i have discovered, the best way to save all the settings, be it GPRS settings or what have you is to use the back up feature of the Nokia Pc suite...After i upgraded to the Nokia N80i, i just clicked RESTORE tab after returning to the" back module " in PC suite & Presto....Works really well..

Another successful upgrade from N80 to N80IE via update using NSS to change phone code and let NSU do the update. SWEET!

I have a N80IE phone now..... great!

Cheers!

Hi,
Did any1 has any success with APAC or Simplified Chinese Version, and which one?
Thanks,
ikdo

Well I used the NSS to change my N80 to the EURO 1 product code for the IE version of the phone. Then I used NSU to update my firmware. I now have V4.0632.0.38 which I assume is IE firmware?

You assume correctly 😊..

whats the difference between say the euro 1 code for black and patina bronze and so on with euro 2, 3 etc

do you get extra apps and if so whats the best

cheers wayne

I think they are all basically the same, except for some language changes, and obviously they identify the different phones...

thomaslehner wrote:Anyone got a new working link for phoenix and diego?

Thomas

Nobobdy has sent me a new link yet, however the diego link is still working .

but you should be able to upgrade without phoenix now, just read the first part of the first post.

I tried using <nss10383> to change product code from 0527609 to
1) 0539367 HONG KONG
2) 0539859 APAC 1 Pearl Black Internet Edition
3) 0541542 HONG KONG Smooth Stainless Internet Edition
However dun work.

The NSU v1.2.30en adviced "No update found" and still detected that the phone is N80 RM-92....

Anyway one has any clue or advice out there....? Thx ya!
Wish to see I could have a N80i for the coming New Year.

It may only work with a Euro code...I dont know anybody that has tried with an APAC code yet ..

Just try changin the code to the ones that are known to work just to see if it detects an update, you dont have to go ahead with it if you dont want to ..
