Fair enough, lets wait and see.
LOCKED:TomTom patch for N95 available now? (warning: scam information in this thread)
Sicilian wrote:Spoke to GPS Midlands this morning, they told me the patch has been approved & that they hope to release it today.
Thanks for info but i don't believe to GPS Mid.
They HOPE Today..........the patch never will be released.......
🙄
I hope GPS Midlands do release a full working patch, not only because it's what everbody's been waiting for, but to give a big two fingers to everyone who's been doubting them!
Bust
Being fed up with all this speculation, I decided to solve it once and for all. More details later.
BTW, final approval from whom exactly? Theres no-one to get approval from.

Solve what? How to use TT6 with N95 gps??

Now you got me curious, what are you up to know? And please Bartmanekul; don't use same strategy as gpsmidlands - they say "shortly", you say "later"😉
No, not to get TT working with internal recievers on symbian, dont you think I would have done that already 😉
loke, I will send you a PM, same as anyone else *who is a regular* that asks.

I've only found this site in the last couple of days, but would be gratefull if you could pm the info please.
Sorry, I said only regulars. There is a reason for this, and dont take offence, Im a cynical old goat. Its nothing amazing anyway, Im suprised no-one else has done it.
Its not foolproof by any means as it relies on another party, so lets wait and see.
And I shant answer guesses, so dont try 😃

Whatever.......Just post the info for peeps to try.
Well if GPSMidlands dont release their patch today, i'm just gonna buy a competitors package that is fully supported.
bartmanekul wrote:I will send you a PM, same as anyone else *who is a regular* that asks.
PM pls if me regular enough.. 🙄
Whoa people, Im geting a LOT of PMs! I cant send many cos of the 60 second limit.
Trust me, its really not that amazing, anyone could do it.
And no its not a fix in anyway of getting the internal reciever to work with tomtom.
Its merely finding out if GPSM are telling the truth. I probably wont find out today, and I will post as soon as I know anything. Its also possible its a dead end, so calm yourselves people.
don't forget on me :P
221 oops 222 posts since 22/07/07😮
nearly 23000 views😮
All about some ifs, maybes, could bes, soons, shortlys and laters!
I can't believe forum posters sometimes!

Right then. I still say they're lying through their teeth because what they say just doesn't make sense.
1) How would TomTom find out about their "fix" before ANYONE else, and just a matter of hours at that?
2) How do they plan on executing this entire "locked-down-to-a-single-handset" strategy? Nothing else on their website suggests that they even have an inkling of an idea on how to do this.
3) Their sheer audacity in coming in here and insulting everyone's intelligence shows that while they DO care about the "Google-damage" this thread is doing to them ("tomtom n95 fix" for example) they aren't doing a damn thing to prove their "claims" of an actual patch.

Because They consulted them?

By signing the SIS install file with a single EMEI.
I'm not saying they are right or wrong, that there will be a patch or there won't. But pa49 has it right, I think 😊
pennas wrote:Because They consulted them?
Look at that website. Does it look like they know how to "consult" with anyone?
ALso, had they "consulted" with TomTom then the patch never would have even been allowed up on the website for the couple of hours that it was.
pennas wrote:

Yes, they're going to do that a couple of thousand times for everyone FOR FREE?
Don't hold your breath.

Egal. As Steven Colbert says: "Pick a side America, we're at war."
Yes, but whats the point in restricting it to a single handset?
Protecting piracy? No, because its going to be free.
So that GPSM continue to gain from publicity due to people visiting the site to get the patch (nothing wrong with that at all)? No, because they have stated they are not interested in that type of customer (i.e. an N95 user thats obviously going to have satnav already).
I suppose you could argue they just dont want to see people sell it on ebay for money.
But thats going to entail a shitload of work for them, when they are not getting paid for distributing these patches.
Anyway, people are commenting on the number of views/posts in this thread.
Well its going to remain a lot until:
Its out.
Its declared non existant.
Its given a definate date.
Edit: damn, iball got there first.
Stuff Tomtom, stuff GPS Midlands, here comes my Copilot live 6, fully supporting N95 only 69.95 😊
Hurrumm. Navigon FTW. Copilot sucked.
bartmanekul wrote:Hurrumm. Navigon FTW. Copilot sucked.
Navigin sucks imo, tried it on pda. Cant import pois or speedcameras on symbian. Least Copilot u can imports speedcameras, pois etc..
Fair enough, thats important to some (Id like it too really) but I simply couldnt get on with the menu system. I have since learned that copilot isnt that bad, but for the symbian version it looks like they havent bothered much.
Bart, I reckon that's spot on. Even got me out of the woodwork
Cheers,
Mike.
Thanks!
But what are you refferring too? I cant remember if I sent you a PM, I had to send out so many!
I say we stop futzing about with GPScraplands and hack TT6 ourselves since GPScraplands says "it's so easy".
Bart, I agree with your PMs. 😉
pm's pm's, why all the secracy?? Makes you as bad as GPSM!
Sicilian wrote:pm's pm's, why all the secracy?? Makes you as bad as GPSM!
I'm sorry, who are you again? Exactly.
iball wrote:I'm sorry, who are you again? Exactly.
Just a registered user as you are 😛
tbh i happy with route66!!
Sicilian wrote:Spoke to GPS Midlands this morning, they told me the patch has been approved & that they hope to release it today.
LOL, when do they close, LOL
If they don't give us a date by tomorrow, let's get dirty also! For example; let's start a new thread named "bad service from www.gpsmidlands.co.uk" and then post stories about lying to potential customers😊
Childish you think? Agree - but it would feel great:icon14: 🙄
