I dont know how many more of these duff routes I can take. Sonym i've included pic's and co-ordinates for you to investigate.
Thaks for posting useful information. I will forward this roads to my colleagues. My opinion is,that this is map data issue. We will see.
Regarding custom speed cams. This is probably issue with poi convertor. Which convertor did you use? Old convertor create wrong format. larger and slower.
Any word on the update Sonym? I have Mcguider sat on my phone pretty much useless until its sorted, as it affects the areas I usually travel in.

It would appear that Sonym is ducking and diving that question better than Ricky Hatton was last night 😉 😉
Hi sonym
Just wondering if these issues are forgotten or being worked on? Thanks.
sbc wrote:1. I have even taken a look at the voices folder to see if I could replace the 'slightly left/slightly right' sound clips with plain left/right, but it's not something that can be access without work. Any easy way to do this?2. <cut - answered already>
3. Does Sygic plan on providing new color schemes? A TomTom scheme would be really cool and is requested by quite a few users.
4. Any thought on why McGuider suddenly starts studdering/pausing at junctions?
sbc wrote:Another ferry bug...Try taking the ferry to Fur in Denmark and find another ferry bug. Even though its 700 meter route is on the map, you can't access it. Try planning that short route and McGuider calculates about half a million different roads, before finally giving up or crashing (it can be a bit temperamental).

I used the Ov2upi translator to convert the speed cam's, it made a massive difference to the applications performance, so much so it wasnt worth having the cams on (which is a real dissapointment), if there's a better convertor please let us know. To be honest until the POI's have the option to only alert to ones on your route, they're pretty useless anyway as its constantly flashing up Cameras that are near you but on other roads!
Hallo Sonym
Any news on when the new update will be out?

I am sorry, but I dont have this information. It is up to TA not us. We will make update for them, when they will ask for it.
I think he meant a sygic/Mcguider update, which is what Im waiting for also.

I wonder how many of those speed cams they were there. 😮

Tickle Warn only when on road and that's it 😊
Hello hryzec, welcome to the forums. I notice from your profile you work (or are associated with) sygic.
Just wondering if we could have a solid time for a program update which fixes this postcode issue.
Also, where we would download it from.
Cheers.

There is going to be an update and another McGuider media except SD card, bartmanekul. So people will get what is the most suitable for them.

And sorry I have forgot, Thanks for your welcoming post 😊

there is no option to warn only on road.

Sorry, Im not sure what you mean.
But your English is much better than my Slovakian (or is it Slovak?)
My guess is that it's coming on DVD too, to keep the price down. That's the other media, right? Or could it be a direct download? That would be very nice and might increase the sales quite a bit, when you don't have to wait for days after paying.
Looking forward to that update 😊
I'm not sure what he's saying but i guess he's saying theres going be a update soon and also a new version of sygic except it's not on a SD card .Maybe thats it ?
i dont know i'm just guessing lol
Ok i'v now used TomTom 6, Route 66 7, Sygic Drive and Garmin all on n95 8GB
i'm used to Tomtom and RR66. But Sygic and Garmin have more frames and is allot smoother. But honestly which ever one you use it will do the job well.

Not if your a grumpy, picky critical git.
Like me.
...joining the choir of grumpy, picky critical gits: It looks to me like the cooperation with Sygic was an extremely short lived adventure?
You just voiced my thoughts.
I know that the update has long been available from various other sources (i.e. cracked), so Im getting a bit annoyed at having what is for me a useless version of Mcguider, since I still have the postcode issue.
Oh well, looks like the review will have to go ahead with the version I have.
well i like tomtom if only it was made for n95 then we would have seen more frames/smoother navi. I still keep 6630 in the car with tomtom 5 and that is faster/smoother then any of the current sat nav on n95/8GB

Well someone in the office is using it.
Personally im going to wait until its grown up a bit. Theres no update procedure, downloadable content ( voices etc ) and as a result almost no community for it. and the website has nothing other than "Buy the card" information.
Shame really
sbc wrote:Right... I can't believe that no one else seems to have noticed the severe problem with low fps on the Garmin, so I have searched YouTube to find some clips for you to compare Garmin to Sygic. Remember that Sygic McGuider has just been released, so the clips you are about to see are done using a beta version, and fps is one of the thing they have done a LOT of work on.The first clip is a side by side comparison. Sounds perfect, but unfortunately the video was shot by Shaking McShaky from ShakyRock, so you have to focus on one device at a time. It can be done, but it is a bit hard on the eyes 😊

The low fps issue seems to be inherrent to the Garmin software, platform independant. This means that comparing between at least related platforms can be done. Just check out a few Garmin clips on YouTube if you don't believe me.
Here's Sygic performing on the UIQ platform:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUHtJUpU23Q
Compared to this N95 8GB running Garmin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L6Px_U5gF8
So... You see what I am talking about? Max 1 frame per second on the Garmin versus 8-15 on the Sygic? It makes a heck of a difference, especially in turns and sharp corners.
As you might have guessed, I have talked myself into ordering the McGuider. Can't wait for it to arrive 😊
Dont worry, i have low framerate too on my N95 8GB, you re not alone.

And not in Poland for example - here the maps must be VERY carefully updated every month 😉 (ok, a joke, but ive tested some of the maps, and only garmin seemed to be accurate, nokia maps are not far, but garmin is better)

Thats *very* odd as Garmin get their maps from Navteq - which nokia owns.
So unless Nokia are doling out new maps to other like Garmin before they update their own Maps software, they should always be at least as uptodate as Garmin, often more so.
Just to throw my hat in the ring, I think McGuider is the best SatNav software I've used on my N95, it's fast, the menu is logical and tidy and the routing seems very strong. I am, therefore, even more disappointed about the support side.
I hope they can address these issues becasue I am very impressed with it otherwise

Well seeing as you are I will too, I think the app is a total waste of time, the routing is rediculous, (Route66v8 with correct road speed settings makes sygic look plain stupid). custom poi speed cam's slow the app to a halt. 5 times in 1 week the app made a SERIOUS routing error (sending me down streets that are dead ends / the wrong way up one way streets / down dirt tracks), there's far too many routing bugs for an app with '2008' maps!
Oh yeah and while im ripping it the autozoom is just no good, Its far too zoomed out when your in really small streets, and the app doesn't tell you to 'turn right at the 2nd road' like route66v8 it just says turn right! well thats great! now which one? theres 3 turn off's here! you see my point?
On the plus side.... err ....... err.......... well..... the frame rate is nice without costom pois installed!

Upate will be released in 2 weeks at latest on our or mcguider website. It is up to you if you will wait for this update, or you will do review with this version.
This was posted more than 3 weeks ago - and Sonym has been very quiet lately, I wonder when we will see this update???
