Also when I am using maps do I pay every time I plan a route?
Thanks Scott
This is my experience:-
1. I created an access point called WLAN HOME, scanned for my home WiFi router, then entered the key in the WPA security setting. (PM me if you want detailed info on how to set up a similar AP on your N95)
2. I configure all N95 apps which require a data connection to use Always Ask so that I can choose Wi-Fi if it's available, or GPRS/3G when I am not in Wi-fi range
When a data connection is required, the N95 appears to automatically scan for Wi-Fi routers in range, before displaying a list of available connections. If the N95 cannot detect a router which is defined in one of your Access Points (e.g. WLAN HOME), the access point in question is hidden from the list.
If WLAN HOME access point is listed and I select it I am not prompted for a key
If WLAN HOME AP is not displayed, and I then initiate a manual scan for new WiFi routers, WLAN HOME is added back into the list of available connections, but for some reason it temporarily forgets the WPA key. This is (IMHO) a bug which I hope Nokia will fix in the next Firmware release.
Anyhow, if I cannot see WLAN HOME access point in the list after an automatic scan, I cancel the connection request because I know I will be prompted for the WPA key.
After a few seconds, repeat the application function which requires a data connection and usually the WLAN HOME AP is automatically listed on the 2nd or 3rd attempt, and I am not prompted for a key.
Hope this helps.
