at my work place we have a wireless router which I can configure no problem..
but to access the internet we are required to authenticate ourselves by a proxy. this is done seemlessly on the pc as we logon to a domain and the proxy uses the credentials of the domain logon..

No where on the phone can I find any settings to add these details.
the browser on the phone just compains about no gateway even though I have entered the proxy settings in the advanced menu....
I have searched high and low on the net for a fix, plugin, solution but still nothing...I though at least you might know...or know how I could suggest Nokia implement this.....
Cheers.....Heres hoping...
I have found this myself!!!! Yeah Me
Under Tools > App Manager > WidSets > Options >open > Access point
It defaults to a blank but u can choose to assign a Access point for the individual App...
Works on a Select few others too...
I have recently updated the firmware and ever since, i cant receive picture messages. I can send them and everything else on the phone including WAP etc works fine, but just cant receive the pictures.
I have tried everything and even vodafone cant help. I think its now a phone problem and not a settings problem.
Have you come across this problem and if so, how can i fix it? Also, is there anyway i can revert back to the old firmware and see if it is the firmware that is causing the problem?
The N95 i have got is unlocked and never has been locked to any network if this helps
I've recently received my N95 and I'm pleased with it's performance on the whole. I have a few problems that neither O2 nor Nokia can help me with. Can anyone shed any light for me. When i start up my Gps, the phone finds my wlan quite quickly and easily. However the phone asks for my Pre-shared key every time, although i have this information, it's a ball-ache keying it in each time. Can't i save this somehow so it just starts up? Cheers.

Indeed you can:
Go to Settings > Connection > Access Points
then Options > New Access Point and enter the details. You want to change data bearer to Wireless LAN and just scan for the network name but then enter the details and voila!
Hiya
I have just read this on the BBC news website:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6901945.stm
Does this mean that courts are stopping mobile operators from blocking phone features that they don't like? Hope so :icon14:
I've unbranded my N95 so I could use Fring (esp. Skype) but sounds like Orange may be told to play ball.
I have been a bit annoyed with Orange recently since they don't offer a true unlimited GPRS option even though they told me it would now be available. Limited to 4mb or fair use, WTF!!!
Anyway, might be a step in the right direction if Orange start allowing VOIP, even if they are forced.

Hi guys
I tried Orange TV on my N95 when it had the Orange firmware on and was quite impressed.
Since they are offering a free trial I thought I'd have a look.
Now not sure if unbranding the phone and upgrading to latest Nokia firmware has anything to do with this (doubt it) but for some reason I can nolonger view Orange TV.
I have tried this a few times over the past week but keep being told "Unable to connect". When I press okay it asks if I want to save the streaming details.
I've saved it, gone into realplayer, selected streaming, but still it doesn't work.
Any ideas?

It works fine when i try to access 'Web'. It doesn't ask me for and such code. It only does it in 'Maps'. Is this normal?

Go to Nokia website and search for Operator Settings.
Download and save the Orange Streaming connection AP.
Also, go to Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Packet Data and ensure that orangeinternet is the configured value.
Hope this helps.

Check that the value is not blank in Tools -> Settings -> Connections -> Packet Data
I don't know what the correct value is for Vodafone but if it's blank call them back and ask.

Thank you. It was this bit that was not set:
Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Packet Data and ensure that orangeinternet is the configured value
It works now.

It seems that although you can install almost as many themes as you want on the memory card of a N95, the phone will only display a fixed number of themes and you cannot access those which are no longer displayed.
Am I correct in this assumption?

Hi
This post of mine will help you understand using GPS on N95
http://symbian.avinashrathod.com/2007/07/n95e90-gps.html
Hi
I just bought my N95 and as I left it in my pocket I noticed some cotton fluffs and dust in the edges of the screen stuck. So when I try removing them with the cloth they get stuck inside more. So I used a toothpick and made it thinner to fit. Then as I removed the cotton fluff I noticed some black thing between the cover and screen around the whole N95 holding it together to avoid anything going in. So after when night hits, when my N95 lights up now I can see some extra light coming out from the exact centre of the from screen at the top exactly in the middile centre at the top. I don't know if me putting the toothpick and moving the cover up a little might have moved the black thing in between to make the light come out. Now my N95 is only 2 days old and I'm really worried. Could someone please help me with this or check if thier N95 has that light coming from the middle. Because I don't know if it was me who moved the black thing and I know its a big mistake and I won't do it again. Now my N95 is under warranty but could someone please help me with this.
Thanks in advance and please help as I'm really worried. Just a sentence would be fine.
When i get an incoming call and the other caller ends the call the line keeps beeping for many seconds till the phone disconnects...and even with the headset i cant hang up the already disconnected call and wait fot it to stop! Please help...:frown:
Install Base Package First error when I try and install the chinese/english dictionary program on my computer.

Hi all:
I have just got my new N95 for a few days only. I notice searching by last name is no longer working as it did in my previous phone (N80). I set my N95 to display and sort contact to "lastname, firstname". if you setup a contact in your phonebook, lets say firstname is "ABC" and lastname is "XYZ".
Now, if you search by entering "XYZ", your contact will not be displayed in the list. I don't have this problem on N80.
is anyone here encountering the same problem?
Thanks!

I dont know exactly whats the problem, because both phones works by same way - both are S60v3 devices...:frown:
Does anyone have a Blackberry connect client working yet? It's the only thing lacking for me on this phone. I've had mine for a while now and it's great, but I need Blackberry connect!!
I'm planning to get an N95 next month, when my Orange contract expires. I have a few questions...
Has anyone successfully connected their N95 to Sky+ via a Slingbox, and watched (and controlled) a recorded show?
Is it possible to rip a DVD onto the phone's memory card so it can be watched whilst out and about?
I am an old-school Symbian user, and still use Money on a Psion Series 5 MX. Is there a comparable package for S60?
regards,
Bonj

All ways of searching works for me,regardless of how contacts are sorted.
my phone keeps saying '1 or more alarms missed due to time change'. what does this mean please?
My wifi connection drop after every 2 mins.. Please let me know how to fix it.. I have a new Firmware
Thank you
Can anyone help me figure out why I keep having that dictionary issue? Thanks.
vix2000 wrote:my phone keeps saying '1 or more alarms missed due to time change'. what does this mean please?
I've had this a few times. I assume it means that the clock has been auto updated by the network (if you have that option selected) and the calendar app isn't very good at handling that.
vix2000 wrote:my phone keeps saying '1 or more alarms missed due to time change'. what does this mean please?
It probably means your handset was switched off when a calendar alarm was meant to occur - at work, overnight, flat battery, etc.
If you open the calendar app, then do Options -> Delete Entry -> Before Date -> then accept the default (today's date). That will stop the message appearing.
P.S. The above procedure does NOT delete recurring calendar entries but clears the missed alert flag if it was one of them that caused the problem.
Firstly the radio, here in the UK it seems there is no support for Visual radio (whatever that is), however why cant you use the radio when the N95 is in the 'offline' mode? Or am I missing something.?
Maps/GPS. The N95 I have has come complete with a 1 year mapping licence purchased in the UK, so the voice guidance woks OK. I have downloaded (via the pc) maps for some other countries that I visit, will the licence cover these as well, so I can get voice directions when I go overseas, or will I have to purchase another licence for that country. What about the city guides, does the licence give you the ability to download them or do you have to pay extra, and can they be downloaded via the pc?
When going to 'contacts' the N95 only seems to list contacts stored in the phone, to see the SIM contacts you hav to go via the options etc, any way to make the phone look at either the SIM contacts or betterstill both phone and SIM contacts?
Finally, any way to stop the annoying 'Nokia start up screen and associated music? just want to turn on and thats it !
Thanks in advance
