;330933'] put my memory card in the computer and installed the v545 it did install but it required the key (which i never had)
so i then installed my crack v468 on top of it
and it worked
Can you provide more detail on what parts of v468 you installed over 545?
Did you manually copy the v468 .app file or reinstall using the SIS file?
So are you now running V545 or V468?
By the way does anyone have the original unpatched V468 file? I would like run a binary compare on both versions of the .app file and see how much was changed. (On V5 of Tomtom there was only one byte different in the cracked and uncracked .APP files)
i installed the sis of v468 after installing v545 using the setup.exe
so im running v468 at the mo

Thanks for the info and the URL. 😉
However I think you misunderstand why the R66 SIS file is unsigned...
Someone has decompiled the manufacturer's original SIS file, and cracked/patched the R66.APP executable to allow any 16 digit number to be accepted as a valid activation code. So far so good.
However, when the installation files are recompiled/repackaged into a SIS file again, the manufacturers' certificate has been lost, and the SIS is unsigned.
We then need to self-sign the SIS file to work with our own certificate, tied to our IMEI number, before it will install on our phone.
What I am looking for is the original, R66 signed version of the SIS file, so I can compare the original unpatched R66.APP file with the cracked/self-signed version we use.
Anyone?

I downloaded the new Britan map (filestamp is 22/01/2007) and renamed it as Britain2.prm, then copied it straight to the memory card R66 maps folder. I have selected the new map (Britain2) and planned a couple of routes successfully, without the need to install v545 then reinstall v468 over the top.
I will do some more testing, but looks like we don't need v545 for compatibility with 2007 maps.
However, I would still like to compare the cracked and uncracked v468 files to see what's involved in patching the .APP file.
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I have had my Nokia N95 for a couple of month now and until now have had no problems with it at all.
However now I have a problem in which I can't solve and so need some ideas.
The problem is when using the music player.
Whilst listening to music and the keypad is locked at a completly random time the time bar of the song stops moving, as does the time remaining of the song, but the song continues to play. However when the currant song playing reaches the end the next song dosn't play until I unlock the keypad.
This is very anoying as it means one of two things;
I can't lock the keypad whilst using the music player, or I have to keep unlocking and relocking the keypad after every song.
Can anyone shine a light on this please?
many thanks
Brad

Quite a strange problem. Do you have any 3rd party keylock app installed?
I would honestly suggest you format the internal memory with *#7370#

I tried to reproduce the same but the media player worked well even when the keypads were locked.
Very strange 😞
A question about the n95 mic.
first watch this: youtube.com/watch?v=G4YCSxjR59Q
My n95 seems to hate loud bass, it ends up sounding absolutly dreadful as you can see. I also have other videos of this problem, one is a live samba band, any bass just sounds like ive hung the phone out the the window of a car travelling at 200mph, its truely aweful. Any none loud recordings are ace and i was wondering if theres a problem with my handset or if anyone else is having this problem.
How does one erase everything from the phone without doing it all manually? The hard reset doesn't do it. I need to get rid of all contacts, notes, files, applications, etc. etc. Thanks.
NEED HELP GUYS!!!
1) I've got R66 v7.3.486 installed on my memory card. Previously I tried installing it on the phone memory, but it didn't work. Kept saying "resource missing" as the map was on memory card. Is there any way I can customize R66 to find the map on memory card?...if not, how can I copy the map to phone memory folder? I want to install r66 on the phone coz apparently it would be faster that way. Do you have any idea how to do it? Anyone of any help? Thanks.
2) I'm using Australia map (79.3 MB). It's working but, around some places in Melbourne it crashes and goes off. It finds the address but when I try to navigate, it goes off....tried several times with same result and it is in some specific areas. I've read in this forum that if someone use newer maps (520 or 545 version) in the v486, it crashes. I'm not sure if I'm using newer map or not. Any one has v486 Australia map to help me out?...or is it any other problem?
3) I downloaded some Australia speed and redlight camera info (POI) in R66 file format which are : redlight.csv, speed.csv, and redlight.bmp, speed.bmp. Is there a way to integrate these in this version? I searched everywhere but couldn't find any file or folder of Point of Interest on either memory card or phone memory.
Thanks guys....any help would be highly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a faulty mic, the sound shouldnt be "blowing" like that with deep bass. Check my video here i took in an industrial metal club, done just to check the sound so not much to see (too dark :P)

1) map file goes into your memory card on System\Apps\Route66\maps
there is one main reason for that. The map file is always bigger like in your case around 80 MB and in my case from 140-220 MB which is always good on memory card as the phones do not normally have huge memory.
even if someone managed to run it from memory card there is no way it will help your application work faster as the data speed from the memory card is fine as required by this particular application
2) there are many others using the same map and having problems and many having no problems. In my case I use britian map both new and old without any trouble but when some people use new maps with old application, the application crases.
So I dont really think that the map version is a problem. Plus as far as I know the australian maps do have some problems and there is one buggy release
3) No clues
hope this explains
btw let me know if i m wrong
Anyone know how to convert .map file into .prm file?
I got this Britain.map file from route 66 and want to use it as my new map
but it wouldn't work as it is not a .prm file
any clues

Formatting the internal memory is achieved by typing *#7370#
Formatting the MicroSD memory card tools is done by Memory app in the Tools menu.
However, the Hard Reset should have cleared contacts, calendar, etc.
Hard Reset doesn't always work first time.
The way to tell it worked is that you will be prompted to select your country and time-zone after boot-up.
Did this happen for you after the Hard Reset?

Whenever I installed it on my phone, it always gives resource error as it doesn't find the map on memory card (in my case). How can I make r66 find the map?
follow these steps
when you install the application it will ask you where you want to install the application....Choose Phone memory
then
put your memory card onto computer (or connect the phone to your computer via usb and select mass storage)
goto your memory card
Copy the map file Australia.prm in your memory card on \System\Apps\Route66\maps
Note: You may have to make your browser to show hidden files as System folder on memory card is hiddenand you may have to create Route66 and maps Folder
Disconnect the phone from computer or (place the memory card back onto phone)
Run Mobile7 from your computer and select option Activate via Internet, Enter any 16 digits Alphanumeric code
If you have more than one map installed then press the left soft button goto preferences>>map(this will be the 2nd tab)>>map
and select the map you want to use
I hope this solves the problem
TO ADD MAP TO ROUTE66:
select "Mass Storage" mode this time
*** UNHIDE hidden folder first ! in Windows ***
My Computer ->Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Show Hidden files and folders
copy map (example: Britain.prm) into System\Apps\Route66\maps folder on phone memory card. If there is no maps folder, create a new folder called maps
in memory card you will see a folder called System
open it and you will see a folder called Apps
open it and you will see a folder called Route66
open it and you will see a folder called maps, and there is where you put
the map. example Britain.prm
Thanks guys. I at last managed to install it in my phone memory. It surely is bit faster....no help for crashing though....Thanks iD for your help...

Hi,
I've got a few movies I'd like to watch (stream) and music to listen to in my Nokia N95 (Vodafone). What do you suggest me doing as at the moment, I can't find any soluton to this.
thanks,
::h0mbre::
I'm new to this but have bought a 2GB card downloaded all of Western Europe as i am off to France & then Spain. However I have noticed that the route suggested does not change in distance & expected time when I switch between shortest & quickest, Toll or no toll.
For example N95 states that from my address in Chadderton, Oldham to the Dover ferry terminal is a 297 mile 5hr 27 minute journey which completely avoids the M6 & Toll section, instead taking me accross country from the M60 to the M1? However Autoroute on my PC states it is a 292 mile trip but more importantly only taking 4Hrs 14mins (this is about right I've done it before), this is a big difference. The trip in France from Dunkerque to Chalais in the Charente region is even worse.
In short the N95 gives me niether the shortest nor the quickest. According to Nokia's website I have the latest version of software V11.0.026 on my phone. Can anyone help have I got a faulty phone? I have only paid for a 30 day license thankfully, can third party navigation software be used on this phone yet, especially one that uses full 8 digit postcode search facility.

Its not jsut you, its on all phones!
Can anyone help?
I've had my n95 for a few months now and its worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago.
The music player is faulty.
When I open up the music player, start to play my chosen album and lock the keypad to put my phone in my pocket this is when the problem starts.
at any random time during the playing of the first song the time indictor of the playing song will stop moving as well the time remaining and amount of time the song as played, like it's been paused, however the song continues to play. But when it's reached the end of the song the next song won't play uutil I unlock the keypad. This will happen with every song and so basically I can't lock the keypad. The problem seems to start from trasfering the songs from my PC to phone. As the songs appear to stop transfering until I press any random key on my phone.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Brad
Hello!
First out...
I'm having problems with the camera, and not the camera itself but i can't launch the camera sometimes, i often just press the camera in the n95 menu and it says like error, please restart your phone instead of open the lens cover. if i open the lens cover first and let the camera application launch it works 1/3 times. and i cant switch to the second camera used for video calls, i have tried to update my software 4 times without any result and i guess it might could be something to leave to the nokia support? otherwise everythings works great.
